Everything seems to be coming up roses with this latest crop of U23s. We need to continue purchasing for and developing that bunch, especially if we think (as I do) that we could be looking at 2-3 seasons of Puel.

This happens every couple of years, you'll probably find our reserve team contains a far higher age group than quite a lot of the others do. Same happened when we had the likes of Blyth and the like playing.

Just watched his interview on LCFC and I like him a lot.  Of course you cannae base a footballer's future success on a 2 minute interview on a shitey football page but he does seem to have a good attitude.

Which you never know without giving them a chance.

I don't need to know, the manager needs to know and they can make that decision without having to see them play first team football.

The notion you can't make that decision without seeing them in first team football is just wrong.

Surely it makes more sense for him to be a regular first teamer for half a season at Sunderland than be an occasional sub for us? If he's any good he'll be a first teamer by August.

Intriguing that Puel will have no hesitation to throw them in but Ranieri and Shakespeare had reservations due to supposedly always having something to play for. Puel seems so sure of himself that he doesn't care if it's reckless to give them a go. That substitution of Choudhury vs Spurs was bordering on obscene given the situation. I think we can be rest assured if any of this mob are even remotely good enough they'll get chance after chance. It's a great time to be a young player with us for the first time in long years.

It's brilliant so far and I hope it continues.

I feel like Barnes wouldn't have been dragged to that pre season tour and given no minutes if Puel had been gaffer at the time.

Would be great if we could see Thomas and Barnes join Chilwell in the first team at some point and have 'three of our own' in the side. Not convinced about Choudhury but the same applies. To have 2 or 3 Leicester-born first teamers would be a brilliant thing for the club.
