There has been very little criticism of Puel from me, in this thread or in general. My request in this thread is that we find a way of letting him know how important this is to us. We want it to be taken seriously, winning the cup is better than a top 10 finish. His team selection for the cup has shown every indication that cup games are a lower priority than league games. I want him to know that isn't the case for most fans. This culture that has invaded our cup competitions is not something we, as Leicester fans want to see. If he knows that, it might influence him, it might not, but I want him to know that this is important for us.

Hes a  French , cup winner..I believe and an English finalist  ...he knows....

His loss of the Soton job will not blind his views...

Unless you're suggesting he should play his best XI every match?

I'm a big fan of rotating the squad, just do it throughout the season keep the players fresh for the big games, not run them into the ground and rest them for a cup game. I really like the way he has handled the 3 behind Vardy. I wish he and Shakey had done the same with the back 4, because if they had we wouldn't have Dragovic and Amartey still learning their role in the team, if they had had another 5-10 games between them we would have a better back 4 right now. Same with Slimani, injuries have meant Dragovic, Amartey and Slimani are now first choice by default, but we are still learning how to play with them.

Anyone who managed to get a ticket to the 1997 2nd leg of the Coca Cola cup semi final v Wimbledon will tell you what getting to a final means.

still to this day one of my best experiences at a match.

No one rested that day.

It was absolutely incredible that one, 8,000 all in that side stand and I swear 80% of the crowd were pissed.

Of course no one was rested. We had Wimbledon in the SF and Middlesbrough in the final, we had a great chance of winning the competition.

You can't compare that to our chances of winning the League Cup this year when our likely path seemed to be Man City in the QF, Man Utd in the SF over two legs and Chelsea in the final. Let's not pretend Puel threw our big chance of winning a cup away. The same goes with playing Fleetwood in the 3rd round.

We aren’t bloody Bristol City. We are Leicester city premier league champions only 2 seasons ago.

We might aswell never bother entering the Fa Cup, League Cup or be in the premier league if we fear of coming up against Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool.

Puel threw a big big chance of us getting into a 2 legged semi final and with our first 11 I would fancy us beating anyone at home.

I never said we should fear them but a reality check here. When in all probability we're going to have to beat three top six clubs to win a cup then it's likely we'll fail. Lets not pretend we had one hand on the trophy and Puel ruined it with his team selection.

I remember you not being happy when Ranieri took Vardy and Mahrez off at half time at Old Trafford even though we were losing 4-0 and had a Champions League game in the week. It seems you're never happy with any squad rotation and think the best XI should be played until injured.

When we’ve played our best 11 we’ve matched Manchester City pretty well over the last 3 seasons. Arsenal I agree we never beat them fvckers.

Last season Southampton were a few minutes away from taking Man United to extra time in the final. This was after having Arsenal away in the quarters and Liverpool in the semi’s.

Incidentally away at Arsenal in the quarter finals Puel chose pretty much a full strength side.

I remember that, I think I was pretty pisséd off at the time for basically giving up the game at half time even though we were 4-0 down.

Or someone do an open letter on behalf of this fanbase community, and email it to someone at the club for someone there to give it to him.

God forbid that if players like Iheanacho, Musa, Simpson, King or Slimani ever visit this site and read others' views on their performances..lol

I'm amazed no other manager has tried the Pep Guardiola way, there was no reserve side out over Christmas for him, he played a full team or thereabouts in all four league matches and the FA Cup match against Burnley and didn't make his players train while they were doing it to keep them as fresh as possible - he moaned about it of course but who doesn't.

The guy has his team miles clear at the top, still in all the cups and no one wants to at least try and copy his methods.

We certainly know a thing or two about not overtraining, as a club. We were doing that before Pep moved to Man City. I forget the name of the book that talks about it during our title season, I think it was the Johnathon Northcroft one. Highly recommended anyway.

Fearless, I've read it. Fantastic.

No idea why more teams don't it over busy periods.

Pep has another extremely strong team out tonight, KDB hasn't missed a match since ours.

We could write a note and stuff it (along with some nice Brie) in a baguette, and throw it at Appletons head. All we need is for a lucky deflection into Claude's lap, Being a proper frenchman. he will realise the flavour of his baguette is being affected by the presence of the note, and will attempt to remove it. C'est voila!

Well, they do to an extent, I'm sure Vardy has been quoted as saying he likes the festive period as they don't really train, but I don't have a link for that, more of a vague memory. But I guess it is a question of emphasis, and Pep certainly seems to be listening to his sports science/medical team on the specific demands of the PL, which shows his class.

I do think we tend to play the most physically demanding way possible by not really bothering about keeping the ball (although that is improving), but the Pep/Barca way is pretty demanding itself.

One more thing I thought of is that Man City tend to be winning at a canter at the moment (although some of their games have been tight, I do accept), and that is probably the biggest mitigating factor I can throw into the mix. I think players have to work a lot harder when they are chasing the game, or the result is in the balance for the full 90.

How many Cups and Leagues have we won in the last 30 year’s resting people?

Answer: ZERO.

That tells me it’s not the way to go to win trophies.

Regarding your view we can’t possibly win a Cup as we could play Man Utd, Arsenal etc. These have already lost to lower league teams in Cup competitions this season.

Why on earth could we not beat  PL teams if we played a full strength side and therefore progress?

Sorry you argument does not hold water.

No puel didnt throw any chance away..if you had noticed, they were better than us.

Look at our side again and pray tell, who what was  the wrong choice....Would mean they

are still not 1st choice, but they except gk  eeerrrm are rotation   1s t choices, even your

own historic posts confirm it...So what weaker team...??...

Your chasing some grudge to grind, but it cant be team selection.....You've done your homework surely.

Use the given thoughts of players at the time Dec-17, and not todays train of thought....

Or you could write WIN THE FA CUP on your buttocks and streak across the Peterborough pitch like we always do.

It will be cold so I would recommend applying some deep heat and an elastic band to keep things in proportion.
