You actually ordered it?

The mate I was with ordered us a couple.

It was ok, nothing special. But we were quite a few beers in by that stage.

I've been going to The Rake for years, and didn't realise it was owned by the same guys that have Utobeer - the mad canned beer place in the market.

I got talking to a couple of blokes at the next table and they turned out to be the owners (and they actually had the good grace to apologise for the price of the twenty quid beer)!

Sup by Northern Monk. One of the better session pales I've had recently. Lightly hopped and flavoursome for a 3.4% beer. Reminded me a bit of Everard's Beacon Hill.

Krush Superdelic by TwobyTwo brewing at Stoneygate Classroom. Lovely (but not quite as nice as Leapfrog).

Why was it so expensive?

It's an expensive place anyway but I'd image the import cost for a beer which was a select run of production.

I noticed on my recent travels abroad the price difference between import beer and local beer. In Sweden, Kirstall Bitter was high as £10 lol

In Rome. Found a bar in Trastevere slinging out big bottles of Ichnusa for about a quid a go to drink on the street. Also seen all the local students drinking something called Raffo which I’m going to try this evening. Might move here and chase my youth for a few years.

A pint of Charnwood brewery APA

Genuinely think Charnwood brew the best quality cask in the Midlands if not country.

You can taste the quality regardless of whether you like the pint.

Spendy though.

£4.8 for cask is rich
