Its about 15 minute drive from my work  so not in any danger.

Police are tight lipped. Asked my cousin who works for Toronto police and he hasnt heard anything yet either.

Awful news.

I heard about it on my afternoon break at work. They didn't mention any casualties at that time.

So sad to hear so many lost their lives while just going about their day.

Thoughts with the victims and their families.

Another shocker of an incident where so many innocent lives are lost again. Can't understand why these freaks always target innocent people? And what's with this ramming vehicles onto pedestrians? Has it become a trend or what?

You're highly likely dealing with very disturbed people who lack an understanding for morale and/or right and wrong. They live in their own fantasy world, where regular rules don't apply.

Think of a video game.

Whatever evil they see in the world, it will always hit the "innocent", because the wrongdoers usually don't have a large circle of friends, their interaction with other people tends to be down to a minimum. So, whomever they are targeting, they don't know and they don't care, it's that random.

Deadly attacks by car are a bit of a copy cat phenomenon, you see fools imitating other fools - it doesn't help when you know footage of such incidents are readily and easily available on the internet these days.

Its all speculation right now. Doesnt appear to be Isis as the guy had an armenian name. I read somewhere that he had social issues with women but again pure speculation at this point. Will need to see what the investigators can come up with in the comings days and weeks.

If people could stop ****ing killing each other and start actually talking to each other we'd all be better off.

I dunno, after reading some of the communication on here, I often feel like killing people.

Yeah, it's weird. Cars, vans, trucks and the like have been around for over 100 years now, but it's only recently that this has become a "thing". Can't help but think that news media is a lot of the problem, but then people will argue the right to information, but if you're informing a demented moron with issues... :dunno:

If you're inclined to murder multiple people then a car or a van is the easiest way to do it, nobody is suspicious if you rent a van but when you start visiting dodgy sites you'll get flagged up, whereas you pop onto Europcar you're in the clear. Unfortunately there's little to prevent these sort of attacks unless there's bollards installed everywhere.

From what I've heard/read about them, most of the individuals in recent times that has committed such offences appeared to be socially isolated and/or had mental health problems in the past. And perhaps been obsessed by certain political material online etc to make them even consider such acts.

I think organisations that sell guns etc should have an assessment record of all its current and potential customers, so that they can decide with consideration who should be able to buy/who they shouldn't sell him products to.

Can any mental issues, considering this has occurred in the US, that he may well have defeat any possible claim for terrorism offences against him?

Here's hoping not - the last thing that is needed right now is that double standard being reinforced in a court of law.

For me it just serves as a reminder that when you're debating with hateful anonymous people online, the chances are that the person you're communicating with is an absolute, comprehensive, bonafide ****in loser who isn't really representative of normal society.
