hackneyfox Posted 29 July 2018 Posted 29 July 2018 He was head of senior recruitment, so why is Rudkin still getting all the grief?
urban.spaceman Posted 29 July 2018 Posted 29 July 2018 Rudkin's been our scapegoat since Schlupp left. 1
abdul_fox Posted 29 July 2018 Posted 29 July 2018 Macia isn't responsible for bringing them in, but identifies players as targets. The players we have got in since he has been appointed has been decent I would say. 3
Guest TaggertvsWise Posted 29 July 2018 Posted 29 July 2018 I personally don’t see the issue. We have brought in a decent goalie (finally) to actually compete. Identified our defennsive weaknesses and improved with 2 shrewd signings that were needed. Picked up one of the hottest young talents in linking midfield to attack. We were always going to lose Mahrez but Gray isn’t a lost cause. We have a bloated squad but a few players who ‘could’ be like new signings. It seems people want us to sign players for the sake of signing them and use this misguided yardstick to beat Puel et al with at every available opportunity.

StriderHiryu Posted 31 July 2018 Posted 31 July 2018 Since Macia came in: Ndidi Maguire Iborra Nacho (Dragovic) Silva Diabate Ricardo Evans Maddison Ward That’s a great track record. Our scouting team should be complimented especially when we could sell Ndidi and Maguire easily and recoup all of the expenditure. Not every player has lived up to expectations, but even those that so far have been a bit average such as Nacho, Silva and Iborra don’t look like complete busts like the summer 2016 signings. The only criticism you could point at is no Mahrez replacement but even then it’s clear we did have targets but chose not to or couldn’t get them. We made offers for Roberts, Malcom and Alireza to name three. Honestly we have one of the best scouting teams in the country. I feel like we outperform most other teams in Europe including several teams with better financial clout than us. 2
mozartfox Posted 31 July 2018 Posted 31 July 2018 More importantly is Bob still here?? To be honest neither of them have done much since they released 'Young gifted and black'.

I still haven’t ruled out Gray to replace Mahrez, not necessarily as a like for like as Mahrez is obviously the better player but having so much emphasis on one world class player does skew the balance of the team. Playing regularly Gray could prove a bloody talented winger but give us a better team ethic Edited 1 August 2018 by TaggertvsWise
Chrysalis Posted 31 July 2018 Posted 31 July 2018 I thought Macio was gone to west ham, but he is still indeed on our website. Our record does seem to have improved since he came, but he isnt the one who is in charge of getting deals over the line, he just puts forward players.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 31 July 2018 Posted 31 July 2018 Think he's gone to AFCON now it's in the summer.
