Towards the end of the game some tool in towards the back on the left hand side was giving a couple in front of me to the left some abuse (and probably giving abuse to fans in general) for not standing up and singing in a friendly. After about 5 minutes of this pretty much all the fans to my right where giving him shit and he deserved it, no need to throw abuse at fans (calling the woman and her husband c****), especially in a friendly where there is sod all on the line. What made it worse is the people I assume he was with didn't do anything to shut him up until after the game when the husband had had enough and got in his face to shut him up. Not nice to sit near and ruined the end of the game as my attention was drawn to the moron and making sure that if anything kicked off myself and my dad would be able to move out of the way quickly. Hope he woke up the next day regretting how he acted, he was obviously drunk but that doesn't give you permission to act like a willy puller.

Yeah I saw that, totally embarrassing and uncalled for. I attended with my dad who was shocked by such behaviour.

Everyone is there to support/watch the team in principle. People shouldn’t be abused for not supporting the team how one individual deems necessary. Some fans are more vocal than others, ie standing up singing which is great and I often join in myself and agree that such support has a positive impact on the atmosphere but also people have a right to sit and watch the game, old or young.  Not everyone shows their support in the same way.

Why would you go to a friendly, in france, and leave after 50 mins?

What an absolute waste.

Get pissed in England if that was the objective.

We left to get the train. The alternative was stay in Lille overnight. The last Eurostar left at 8-30 and we had to clear customs and also get an UBER from the stadium. At least we made the effort to travel rather than being like you and watching on the internet. It cost us £200 to support our team and I didn't go there to get drunk (I'm teetotal). Not exactly what you would call a fair weather, part-time supporter.

Giving it the biggun at a pre-season friendly is about as useful as singing in the concourse. Complete waste of time.

Personally I think you are daft. Sorry to make that personal but rooms in decent hotels were as cheap as £42.

When I saw Maddison’s highlight reel the first thing I said was that he has to learnt to release the ball sooner as he tends to invite contact from opposition players. In the Championship he was heavily fouled and ended up injured. In the Prem he will get killed if he continues to play the way he does and he will be out injured a lot. He’s a bit cocky, which is not a bad thing but he needs to wise up and learn to protect himself by staying away from unnecessary contact. This kid is going to be playing for England by January IF he can stay fit.

I hope Barnes can fill Maddison's role should Maddison get injured.

Hopefully Puel will have Maddison releasing the ball sooner.

I mean after he's recalled either next year or in Jan.

I heard the next time is in Jan.

If West Brom have paid a fee for a season long loan We can’t recall him in January
