Popular Post foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 4 August 2018 Last two matches have been very positive, hope the injuries aren’t anything too serious. 5
ronnup Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 What’s the deal with J Mad???? That’s a nightmare if it’s serious
FoxesFourLife Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 After that performance I hope Lille finish 18th not 17th next season. 1
Webbo Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 After the first 20 mins that wasn't bad. Still look a bit sloppy in defence at times but Maguire coming back should improve things. 1

I saw him go off injured but LCFC commentator lad is making it sound like he's out for the season He got fouled, made a couple of gestures like it was something to be concerned about but announcer mentioned that where he was bleeding it had to hurt a lot...came off...went back out..couple of touches and sat down. Walked off under his own power with no noticeable facial expression...certainly doesn't look long term but for the Manu game....? Let's see what Claude has to say.
tiredclimb Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Can't see the maddison thing being anything more than bruising/a cut. He ran on it for a bit afterwards. Came off to be safe.
Scotch Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Some decent positives from that match. Nacho looked sharp again. Maddison looked to be our biggest creative threat again. Chilwell looked good going forward. Amartey was solid enough. Diabate looked dangerous when he came on. Benny actually had a good game. Kasper looked alert. Still think we are 2/3 players off a right good season but the last two matches have been positive. 3
foxfanazer Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Injuries are concerning. Can’t even imagine what the starting lineup will be like on Friday
Guest Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Ben Chilwell motm. Excellent game. closely followed by Kasper. Johnson looked the best CB on the pitch again even if he only played a few minutes. Maddison looks class. all Iheanacho does is score. albrighton with an assist Thought Iborra was poor, rather have Choudhury and if not silva in the Manure game.
Webbo Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 I was a bit worried that we might be over reliant on Maddison so it was good to see us score when he was off the pitch. 3

Yeah thats what i saw, thought I missed something cause the commentator was being dramatic at the end. If you're bleeding it just means youve broken skin, doesnt mean any more than that right now because I doubt you'd want to carry on playing with an open would to a moving part in a friendly game. Anyway good win. Morgan still looks fit and we really took control of that one
kingfox Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Finally a positive performance, some really decent stuff when going forward, great move for the second goal especially. Only negative was the centre back partnership for me, Morgan and Benny weren't that bad today but they did get caught out quite easily at times. Chilwell was class, Ndidi was class, Iheanacho was class, I told you @Col city fan that Amartey was World Class, hopefully Maddison and Silva are ok for Friday. Puel In 2
Jaspa Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Anyone else think their manager looks abit like Stevie Walsh?
KingKoala Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 OMG I missed the match,,, hope it's as good as people are talking on FT.
Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 4 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 4 August 2018 (edited) So with preseason over, I think we can say: - The *team* does look to have improved despite Mahrez going. We look a lot more creative going forwards, with a high press at times and more one touch football. - Ricardo and Maddison are technically much better than players they have replaced and it has resulted in sharper passing and more forward thinking. - Maddison is an incredible player. Running the game at the age of 21... blimey. - Nacho is a brilliant replacement for Vardy if needed. They should possibly both play together with Maddison. - We need some more winger / forward options. We are signing at least one and after seeing all of the preseason games it's clear we do need more players to choose from. Albrighton has probably been the best one, but he's a bit inconsistent now that he has to contribute more going forwards. Ricardo looked alright in that position but we need genuine forwards that can give and go and cut in. - Iborra has looked slow in all of the games he's played so far. Silva looks the better player though still gives it away carelessly at times and gets knocked off the ball too often. - The U23 lads are pretty good! They've shown they can play decent stuff and I would quite happily see them play in cup games. In fact their matches will be streamed on LCFC and am looking forward to watching some. - The high press means when we don't get the ball back we are short at the back and it leads to some nervous moments as seen in multiple games. It's a cause for concern even if our first choice given our first choice pairing hasn't played together yet. - Kasper has retained his world cup form and looks in top condition. - All of our young players have looked great! Very exciting times in this regard. Chilwell, Ndidi, Maddison, Nacho from the first team look very good, and Darnell Johnson has looked good every time he has come on. - Callum Elder could be a decent squad option. He's looked quite reasonable every time he's come on. He might not get much game time, but I think he could do a Milner style utility player role quite well for us. Will be interesting to see how we get on when the season starts proper, but I do think in the last two games we have seen positive improvements from last season from the team. MC Prussian Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 The amount of overreaction with regards to our injury situation. Calm down, folks. Let's just wait until the official diagnosis is in on Maddison and Silva. Thank you.
l444ry Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Very pleased with that, first 15 and injuries aside. Could actually see a game plan and some cohesion. Lille not up to much but feel a lot happier after the game than before it.
st albans fox Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 No Riyad means overlapping full backs and vards + kelechi front two supported by Maddison - we don’t need to buy a winger to replace RM. We change our set up. Squad lacks quality depth assuming the players left our are moving on. 1

Thats not to say we should play him over Vardy, or course not, I’m merely saying I don’t really see how we can fit both in comfortably, the two can’t really work. Why not..??
