southfox66 Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Have to say I enjoyed what I saw tonight and was totally unlike the shite style Puel had us playing for long periods of last season, sometimes its hard to figure what impact Puel has, when we play well its if as we playing in a complete opposite way to how Puel probably told them. We were direct tonight and none of this pass the ball around the centre circle and then go back to the keeper. Maybe at last is glimmer of hope that we can move in a new direction
Lionator Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 (edited) Interesting that Everton lost to Valencia tonight (who we drew with), Palace got smashed by Toulouse, Southampton got smashed by Monchengladbach and Spurs were trounced by Girona, while we beat Lille, so maybe, just maybe we're in a good place going into the season. brucey Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Looks like Diabate gave his shirt to a Lille fan after the game? At least it was given to a child, and after a win in a friendly, so no one really cared. Unlike Silva that one time... 1

Spurs played with majority of youngsters, still missing a lot of their World Cup players. Fulham, a newly promoted side, drew at home to Celta Vigo. Friendlies can't be read in to too much. It'd be unwise and naive to do so. Friendlies, for the most part, are primarily there to gain match fitness, work on tactics, gelling players together etc. 2
CosbehFox Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Wolves beat Villarreal 2-1, a club on the cusp of CL. Yet apparently the game was quite naff

Ashley Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Anyone still out there? Just heard one Leicester lad been stabbed and another has a broken leg?

I've heard of stewards and local police holding Leicester fans back, preventing them from leaving the stadium earlier in order to reach the train and the ferry back to England in time. 2

TJB-fox Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 (edited) Much more positive performance but again, a stupid stupid goal given away from Morgan and Benalouane switching off. Didn’t affect us tonight but in the premier league a mistake like that is the difference between 3 and zero points normally. Maddison great again, looks very slick. Convinced this lad will play for England in 2019, maybe earlier! Also great to see Iheanacho firing, was worried he wouldn’t fit our system here and we wouldn’t see his full ability but he’s looking really sharp and here’s hoping he can showcase his obvious quality here. Dr The Singh Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 How good are Lille? I'm not sure this represents any of the challenges we face. However it was a good performance, still not good enough for the premium but half of the players are still in situ.

Good performance though after the first drinks break. Best I’ve seen from Chilwell. Apart from the other obvious standouts I thought Benny had quite a solid match.

He did this several times last season. 8

Yeah I'm sure that's that and not the opposite. He probably tells them to play as bad as possible and to never try to score any goal, that boring, boring man. 27 minutes ago, Trav Le Bleu said: I am fed up of pointing out to people the number of times, after a match in which we played dour, bad, football, Puel said, "this isn't how I want my team to play." Hanan96 Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 Fuchs and elder for ndidi and pereira sub is confusing. Neither is right wing nor central midfielder
