Can I volunteer for dinosaur status as well please as I find her attractive too. If any ladies out there said that they found me handsome or attractive it would be unusual but welcomed immensely. I promise not to feel sullied or used.

You are such a lad 😎

Generally he's being very, ahem, oldskool in his replies, but TBF if you read his original post (unless I'm missing an earlier one) he specifically separates his positive view of her ability as a pundit with his similarly positive views viz a viz her looks. (I might have missed him saying the former is partly based on the latter since then)

I never questioned that. I was simply saying it is irrelevant when assessing her punditry, which it is, without question. If I want to enter an opinion on how fit she is, I believe there's a thread for just that. I've carefully avoided name-calling too, despite all the chucking about of pc, snowflake and pansies in my/our general direction just because our correspondent really isn't willing to have his point of view challenged. That he feels he is somehow justified in doing so is more telling than his need to tell us he thinks Alex Scott is fit, imo.

Poor comparison really. Big Dave has never played professional football.

If you think she’s only on there to be politically correct then you’ve obviously never listened to her insights.

If you had a builder coming round your house but it was a woman, and she had more success and similar levels of experience at her job than anyone currently on that firm, would you turn her away?

depends what her legs were like …………………………… sorry, couldn't resist …..

fwiw, i knew when i read the original post early this morning that someone would pick up on it …………….  not because i thought there was anything particularly wrong with it but because i knew it would upset somebody ……..

Ok lets slightly change it and say Big Dave played 300 Games for England Disabled team as he is partially sighted?  Why does he still not get a chance?

I have heard Alex Scott numerous times during lockdown and I have never been surer she gets the gig as she is female and ticks the PC quota.

On your last point I would go for the female builder everytime as I would a female mechanic.  Its a mental thing where I would trust the female tradesperson more subconcsiously.  No ones ever heard of a cow girl builder have they!!

Pundits - I believe every fan knows how partisan  the vast majority of TV pundits are.

The question surely is about why the BBC should join in the "Big 6" feeding frenzy when they (the BBC) should be more objective. Playing for Liverpool/man u should not be a pre-requisite to getting a job as a pundit.

Commentators - don't care as long as they are informative and add to the game rather than trot out garbage.  That said, there are a couple of voices that really grate on me. One of them is male, the other is female. Sorry, but I have to turn her off, could scratch glass with that voice.

Right. Forgive me. I’m going to ignore the disabled builder stuff and the sexual position references. I have a question.

Let’s say there’s a pundit, pundit A. And you don’t like them. Let’s say they’re like most other pundits. You’ll just say they’re shit.

Let’s say there’s a pundit, pundit B. And you don’t like them. Let’s say they’re from a minority group. You’ll always say “this is PC gone mad”. Am I correct?

I'd love to be but sadly too old. I still however manage to find humour in all sorts of places, some appropriate and some not. Life is too short to worry about many of the things people get hot under the collar about. Go on, have a little giggle, you'll always feel a lot better for it 😁👍🏻
