There are so many deluded "fans" on the club's Facebook page these days (naming no names - because they're probably all on here too!) they annoy me more than the bloody Algerians! There are a special few who have never had a good word to say about the club and only comment when they have something negative to say

I alway try and imagine what it must be like to stand there and shout something like that?  It's like when you see a car drive by really fast and loud and you think "how on Earth can anyone think that makes them look anything but an idiot?  Who do they think they are impressing and what is wrong in their personal lives to make them so strange?".

I think it's called 'attention seeking'

Every club has them. Cant change them or their opinions so they can piss off and shag themselves. Ostriches!

That's my very well thought out highly educated response.

Apologies if this is already a topic. I was at the southampton game yesterday and just before kick off someone behind me shouted and told morgan to fvck off. I just find this completely ludicrious. This is the guy who captained us to our greatest success - winning the pl. I'll admit I'm not morgans biggest fan but the guy deserves better than prats like the so-called fan yesterday. The game hadn't even started and morgans getting stick. Some of our fans really do have short term memories.

Wes had the season of his life the year we lifted the title. In 12 months he went from having hand balls awarded against him for nosing it at anfield to scoring at old Trafford to basically seal the title....

The worrying thing is he's not actually playing badly frankly he seems the same to me as he was when we won the league he has certain strengths our other CBs don't have but some obvious weeknesses that are a bit more exposed now we don't have Kante etc. which apllies to many of our player's. They all have weaknesses and all make mistakes. My criticisms tend to be when they're  not appearing to give of their best something you can definitely never accuse Morgan of.

Agree with this.  I think he has looked pretty solid so far, but it seems he is earmarked as the next whipping boy for some so it doesn't really matter what he does.  Sad to see some people turning on him.

As for deluded fans, well this is nothing new and has nothing to do with the title win.  I remember squirming in my seat at that Sheff Utd game.  I remember Lee Philpott getting wolf whistles every time he touched the ball, David Oldfield getting abuse and Dave Bassett getting it even before he arrived.

I don't think we are any worse than any other fan base.  It just that stupid people are often the loudest.

He was ok yesterday wasn’t he?

He had a good game. My post might have seemed to suggest other wise but I didn’t mean it like that.

He will have good games and that’s why I said he’ll be a superb back up. But pre-game I was just disappointed he was selected, as I’m hoping we are moving forward with a new cb pairing.

He won’t consistently play like that anymore, it’s just natural at his age. If Puel is planning on rotating I can’t see that doing us any good either.

I think people are annoyed even before they turn up. Eat, work, sleep, pay your taxes and get ripped off everyday. People want to vent their frustration and a football match is the perfect place to do it. To be fair I use it partly for that reason myself, I just choose to do it by way of singing, cheering and telling the ref he doesn't know what he's doing and the goal keeper is a twat and he's sh*t. I don't agree with abusing any player, regardless of their achievements or the abuse our current manager has had off a lot us, I just see it as misguided anger, after all we've called the ref a cu*t one or two times. I'm lucky in that where I sit (sk1) my neighbours seem to be of a similar mind. We give it the beans but try and do it in the right way. Just not always.

Honestly these idiots should be pointed out if you have too sit by them . We all are entitled too a moan . But abusing players before kick off is a joke . Like when they abused Pearson and didn’t like his reaction. Or mad Eric’s Kung fu kick . These people deserve the karma they are asking for . If enough people turn around and say shut up moaning they will crawl back in their hole. We had this at filbert st in the double decker and a whole row turned on these two idiots after weeks of rubbish. And it calmed them dramatically. Wasn’t nice but was worth it for everyone. Actually got on reasonable for a couple of years afterwards. always helps if there is a couple of you that are big and ugly too ?

I always think pre season, it’s tome for Morgan to go, surely he’s finished.. and then he turns up and looks as good as ever. I thought he was largely brilliant yesterday, the odd hairy moment but on the whole he was fine. To be honest he’s probably got one more season at this level..... even if it’s bit part.

I thought Morgan played well yesterday. Certainly a lot better than Evans last week. Couldn't believe how sluggish JE was. Hope it's just because he's not fully fit, because if not, he will be an absolute liability.

Morgan was involved in a foot race towards the left corner yesterday and beat his opponent. Looked as pacey as he's ever been.

Weird thing is Morgan isn't actually playing badly. People see Maguire carry the ball 30 yards foward and play a one-two with Gray or make a 40 yards diagonal pass to Albrighton, and expect Morgan to do the same.

Morgan will be 35 in January and I expect Puel to phase him out gradually. In the mean time people should support him and the team.

What I saw from Morgan yesterday was a man with a point to prove. There was a moment when he sprinted a huge distance and closed down a marauding player and got to him before he swung in a dangerous corner. I had to double check who it was who was galloping at speed, and I can hold my hands up and admit that it was unexpected. But it was him, and he had a more than decent a game.

This attitude against Morgan is insane. Despite the occasional mistake and his age against him. It's embarrassing to hear or hear about fickle 'supporters' who are so keen to pay disrespect and are so virulent in vocalising this or sharing on social media.

This is our CAPTAIN. Still our captain. Whilst this is certainly that his time with our club is coming to it's coming to it's conclusion, with the club putting plans to transition the right man to take up his mantle, why sour this with unnecessary spite?

I'd like to see a Morgan who wants to push his replacement for his position, and take the chances he gets with appetite, cos that a benchmark that should be set for the rest of the team. A captain until his last.

What I don't want to see is a player who is dejected and disillusioned by a small minority, and he wants to leave the club shaking his head with a sense of incredulity after all he has done for this club.

FFS fix up!

Morgan played that well on Saturday because he's had two weeks of rest.

I think you all need to take a step back, breathe and relax. Most of the "hate" aimed at a player like Morgan stems from an insignificant minority. Every block has a few of these people, just as much as this forum is host to some of them. But they are by no means large in numbers.

You can still be a fan of Morgan, thankful to him for his contributions as a player and captain and for the fact that he's stuck around for six years, which is rather rare nowadays AND at the same time point at the (natural) fact that he's not getting any better with age. He's lost drive and speed and was caught out of position quite a few times last season. He's become more of a risk than he is an asset in my eyes.

He'll be forever be one of the heroes that helped us achieve the unthinkable. Still, there comes a time after Wes Morgan, Kasper Schmeichel and Jamie Vardy. Sentiment aside, he's not good enough anymore for regular Premier League action, the body can't cope with the demands of the league like it used to.

I'll gladly see him put on a shirt a few more times this season, be it in the league or in the cup competitions, before it's finally time to say goodbye (with all the best wishes) ...

Re Morgan

The 34-year-old defender may well have feared for his Leicester future over the summer following the addition of fellow centre backs Jonny Evans, Filip Benkovic, and Caglar Soyuncu, with his exclusion from the starting eleven against Wolves a possible sign of things to come.

Yet he was reinstated into Puel’s side for the trip to the South Coast, and the Foxes captain reminded us all of just how reliable a defender he is at Premier League level with a dominant display alongside Maguire in the heart of the Leicester backline.

The former Nottingham Forest man completed 90% of his passes (27/30) to underline a composure and awareness when on the ball, but it was off the ball in which he really shone to help the Foxes restrict the Saints – ultimately, it was a wonder-strike from Bertrand that undid the visitors.

Morgan won a team-high five aerial duels over the course of the 90 minutes as well as both of the tackles he attempted, at the same time making a crucial interception and indeed six clearances during the match – only central defensive partner Maguire (ten) made more.

Other than highlight that he's had a bit of rest, I think all you've done is repeat what I've said and unfortunately patronised me and the other posters...

I don't expect him to start every game, what I am hoping from him is that when he plays he makes the most of it, and quiets the naysayers when he does. Setting a standard for his replacements.

The basic point is that the "hate" towards certain (older) players comes from a small set of supporters. As a consequence, I'd say the whole affair is then being blown out of proportion online, a bit of a drama or "outrage" created - in the end, it's much ado about nothing.

Most fans are reasonable and realistic enough to see it from a different angle. :fc:

(Btw, I don't mean to be patronizing)
