Would like this, partly for reasons of obvious bias but he's also a terrific player that shouldn't cost the world.

Like a budget Lorenzo Insigne. His size would obviously be called in to question but he's technically fantastic.

Well obviously, he's Japanese.

I figured that was assumed. If I had my way, we'd have Inui on one wing, this guy on the other and we'd bin off Maddison for Kagawa.

If he turns out half as good as the club's last Japanese signing no one will be complaining.

Half as good as Shinji?   I would certainly be complaining.

Another cut price winger.  If you look at the wingers that came into the prem last year, we can see those that have made an impact have been Andersen at West Ham and Richarlison at Everton (I know he was already in the prem).   The likes of Ellynoussi, Ghezzal and Jakanbash have done nothing.

In other words, you get what you pay for.  We should have bought quality, instead we'll end up with three - Ghezzal, Ricardo and maybe this guy which would make £51m if the fee is to be believed.   We could have bought a quality marquee signing for less.

I don't know Nakajima but he is at the very least unproven and buying players from the Portugese league just brings me out in a rash.  Will we ever learn?

I said if he turns out half as good as shinji. I didn't mean if he has half of shinjis ability. Whatever you think of shinji as a player (no doubt I would disagree) you can not argue with the impact he had or the quality of signing for 9 million quid.

Agreed unless you get Tesco points with Portuguese signings. Slim,  Silva and Pereira are all sub standard or not suited to the Premiership style of play. Likewise with Musa, all biggish fish in little ponds that appear to offer good value for money but buy cheap by twice.

I hear this a lot but I'm yet to be convinced that any player worth 50 million is likely to come to a club such as Leicester. This is pretty much the average price paid by Man City and Liverpool. There are a few examples of the 75 million plus player but not that many.

Unfortunately I think we need to be more realistic. The idea of a mid table possible relegation candidate club, and there are several at our level, isn't that appealing to players in the 50 million plus bracket.
