Recruitment under Puel

That's different.

Amartey and gray were just a fraction of our transfer budget. Majority of the money were spend on peak players like slimani, musa, iborra and silva. They are signed as youngsters. Maguire and Ndidi are young yes, but Ndidi only brought after we have 6 months period without adequate ball winners. Only maguire and Iheanacho who are comparable to most of our signing at the current season.

Now we have Ricardo, Madison who are youth signed for first team like maguire did. We have benkovic who were developed as loanee in celtic for the next season and soyuncu who are slowly Introduced to first team.

Amartey were signed as defender and become a stop gap central midfield only because lack of option and got replaced as soon as we have option. Gray took 2 years to start getting proper game run. (and will be longer if shakey staying) Those player are signed more for development sides like diabate and kaputska instead of planned signing for the first team.

Our planed first team signing were those 27++ years old mentioned signing instead of 24-- years old signing like we have now.

Evans? Lol he's signed for 3.5 mill. Just bit around gray and lower than amartey.

To say we did same policy over 3 season is just blind folded

Firstly, spending 8m on gray and amartey was quite a big proportion of our total budget back then.

But in the rest youve literally highlighted we've signed young players every summer since we've won the league.

It also goes back even further than that, first season in the prem we signed Tom Lawrence and Powell on loan.

So it's not exactly Puel that's brought in this idea of buying young players.....

Most of the signing under him have been made by the club rather than the manager.

Ghezzal and Diabete were made because the manager insisted despite reservations from the scouting team.

To be fair I didn't say that Puel was one signing all the players, I was stating that in his time here the recruitment has been decent.

First, you need to see how we sign those player.

Amartey and gray were signed without proper plan to introduce them to the first team, neither plans to loan them out, hence they signed as youngsters for development team rather than hot prospects.

Then we signed youngsters. That's the difference. This season we sign hot prospect with plan to integrate them to first team.

Youngsters and hot prospects are different.

Tom Lawrence and powell happen to be just same if not worse case than the previous two.

Puel eras saw majority of transfer budget spend on 24 or younger player for the first teamers, not youngsters. That's the difference. We didn't just sign cheap young people like diabate for development teams but spend more on young guns for the first team. And somehow most of them are talk about the coach, something our previous signing didn't do.

That's why I said what we had done this year is different. We spend on youth as soon as transfer window and budget start instead of just using leftover or small part of transfer fees after signing peak player, or even wait for the force like Ndidi case. Did there even any news on we made a huge bid for peak player like sigurdson anymore?

Puel also famous for developing young player even since before he's here unfortunately. He didn't need to  wait to prove this here as its already done.

Spare me the football manager rubbish.

There is no difference this window to ghe previous one despite your attempts to categorise 'decent young players' and 'hot prospects' as you describe.

Ndidi went straight into the first team, Amartey did 6 months later, Iheanacho they wanted to replace Okazaki, Gray has attempted to replace Albrighton every year. Your argument makes no sense. Perreira is barely a young prospect, he's 24 with 5 int caps.....

You dont think tripling his wages and offering two times more than any other club might have swung it?

Had nothing to do with money. He agreed to sign for us before his contract was drawn up because of Puel.

Really that's why I put in the thread he had agreed to join before the contract was sorted. My info was from Porto well in advance of what others got.

Thats not a rubbish but fact. There are people like diabate and kaputska and there are people like soyuncu and Maddison. Both are transferred here for different option

I already said Ndidi signed only because we didn't have energy in the midfield, he's rather a force signing rather than primary target. Amartey? Already said as well he's only play there because of lack option. He's dropped asap when somebody could take over and Simpson is forever our right back

Our recruitment is the same? Tell me where is the like of silva, Iborra, slimani, musa, sigurdson in this season recruitment. Where? Those people take a big chunk and even break our transfer record. Where are them now? Where did we spend most of our money this season? On 27++ player again?

Ricardo never young. Thanks!!! You just debunk your own statement which argue 24 years old maguire as part of our young player signing

This really show that you already have agenda. What's important is not the fact anymore but just what support things you wanted. After blindly, or deliberately blindly made 3.5 mill evans equal with record breaking slimani I'm sure you will bring 13 mill ghezzal as our major signing next and putting soyuncu in kaputska place. Thank you

Just like Pearson, Ranieri, Shakespeare and now Puel....the transfers are done by a team of people. Macia, the stats analysts, Puel and assistant manager will all get a say. Rudkin gets a final input too.

For example Appleton spent most of last season constantly recommending Maddison to Macia and the analysts. They look at him agreed with it. Then he was presented to Puel and Rudkin as an option.

We've been tracking Maddison since he was at Coventry.

Is Macia still here? The Bordeaux thing has gone very quiet since the rumours last month.

We'd indicated what cash we'd offered way before that to his agent, thats how transfer work.

You cant say for sure its about cash and cash only surely?

Id be surprised if no other clubs were interested in Ricardo

Spuds and Sotton wanted him. He turned both down once we showed interest. Puel was the reason given.

Do either of you know if the recruitment team/analysts would be interested in Che Adams? I think he would be a good buy for us.

Why would Spurs be interested when they have three right backs already?

They were interested in 2017 but went for Aurier instead, and then didnt go in for him in 2018 because they couldnt get rid of Aurier.

I bow to your greater network of knowing the transfer intentions of every club.

The only difference so far is that we've not pumped £29m on 29 year olds. That might change, but I hope not as it's a bad way of going about things at a club like this.
