I certainly believe it's something that the US could have self inflicted to further the interests of a power hungry president. The biggest thing for me that would suggest it to be a hoax would be it being faked just to one up the soviets. However the soviets tracked them to the moon and even congratulated the US on their achievement, I don't believe the Soviets would have done this had it been a hoax. In reality, this is the biggest proof that conspiracy wasn't true. The USSR knowing that the US faked the Moon landings and letting them get away with it at the height of the Cold War? No chance.

Usually an impossible feat though since attempts at rational discourse with the majority of online conspiracy believers are generally futile. 6 minutes ago, ozleicester said: so effectively you want proof, but dont want anyone to talk about theories? You can "talk about" whatever you wish, but in the absence of substantiation it is little more than worthless anecdotal conjecture.

There's a million photos on the internet and you probably know that, but what you want is for people to start posting them, so you can put up an explanation for them.

It wouldn't matter to them if the Americans (or even the British) didn't believe them, simply being able to imply it was a fake job would have given them immense kudos with the Warsaw Pact countries which would have been reason enough for them to try. They managed to foster and bring out a shedload of conspiracy theories about JFK getting shot for the sake of formenting unrest in the US - why wouldn't they do the same for the Moon landings unless they were sure it was on the level and there were no threads for them to pick at?
Suzie the Fox Posted 2 March 2019 Posted 2 March 2019 I used to believe in the Roswell incident, but have watched a zillion programmes on it and am now convinced it was one of our (not alien) prototype's that crashed and the cover up was so we could keep the plane secret.

I guess you could argue that conceding the space race meant no longer needing to fund their own space program as much?
fuchsntf Posted 2 March 2019 Posted 2 March 2019 There has been a definite, and now proved conspiracy.. That all kids and mums...stop their dads doing what they really want!! And have been trained in secret lessons at school, how to roll their eyes. Or blink innocently that automatically melts the father's hearts....... If that then fails their secret P/e training to exact decibels of screaming, that leaves Dad's begging for mercy, that they give double the pocket money, while being brain-washed!!

Guest TaggertvsWise Posted 2 March 2019 Posted 2 March 2019 That was hilarious... their efforts to disprove science was ?♂️
Carl the Llama Posted 2 March 2019 Posted 2 March 2019 Loved the moment where that lady's complaining how some people insist on believing daft conspiracies about her in the face of all evidence she provides to the contrary, then she nearly has a moment of clarity about how that describes her flat earth beliefs before diving back into denial.

That's a possibility, though tbh given their reputation and the way they did things I still think they'd value the loss of face over any money. Regimes like that thrive on their reputation as without it they tend to fall, as it did 20-odd years later.

It's all connected via Cambridge Analytica, Farage's association with prominent Republicans and Russkies, that Aussie Albino Perv living in a broom cupboard at the Ecuadorian Embassy and the dubious source of Banks's funding of Vote Leave. I read too much Carole Cadwalladr on Twitter. Channel Four News this evening leading on some of this about Banks, Russia and funding of Vote Leave. Not to say it isn't tinfoil hatted. Just has a widening audience.
