Ian Nacho Posted 9 March 2019 Posted 9 March 2019 Was thinking about it today. Knew we hadn't won two back to back home games all season but didn't realise it was this bad.
shailen Posted 9 March 2019 Posted 9 March 2019 We have dropped far too many points at home against some of the poorer teams in this division. We have been good away from home which has clouded our league position for the majority of the season. I don't think we were playing badly even under Puel for the majority of the season. I think we weren't playing with the required intensity and trying to always score the perfect goal. That seems to have come from Puel who implemented a patient possession based game. This stifled the threat of Vardy, as he relies on high tempo, space in behind...etc. Without Vardy being able to play this way, we had no other real goal scoring threat. Having said that, I think Vardy adapted well and dropped deep and linked play with others - the Watford goal at home being a prime example. But this is not his strength as we all know. Hopefully going forward we are able to control the majority of games, but also play with higher tempo and more directness - as this really suits us.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 10 March 2019 Posted 10 March 2019 Yes, thanks Puel for completely ruining our home form. Dick. Anyway, think we'll be lethal at home under Brendan!
