Stadt 13,299 Posted 3 June 2019 Report Share Posted 3 June 2019 A thread for tracks that transcend time. So much of The Progidy’s back catalogue I’d have trouble placing a year to
Popular Post Izzy 24,146 Posted 3 June 2019 Popular Post Report Share Posted 3 June 2019 This track is 35 years old! But for some reason it still sounds modern and new to me even now.
Langston 1,995 Posted 8 June 2019 Report Share Posted 8 June 2019 Roses by OutKast, if I didn't associate it with GCSEs I'd never place it. Every now and then I'll play it and wonder why I don't do it every day.
Trav Le Bleu 8,660 Posted 13 June 2019 Report Share Posted 13 June 2019 Anything by the Beatles still sounds like stuff being done by the Gallagher brothers today.

Popular Post Nalis 5,600 Posted 5 July 2019 Popular Post Report Share Posted 5 July 2019 I know it comes across as a cliche but its sad that the lyrics of this almost 50 years on havent been resolved.....
Fox1970 193 Posted 10 July 2019 Report Share Posted 10 July 2019 True, but biographies about him and The Beatles which indicate he could be a thoroughly nasty character make me a little more ambivalent about his professed views.

MC Prussian 7,506 Posted 10 July 2019 Report Share Posted 10 July 2019 Slightly deviating from the topic, but why do audio recordings from the 70ies and early 80ies sound much nice to the ear than today's productions? I miss mono culture, the hiss, the cracklings on tape, the imperfections, NAGRAs and the "warmth" that came with it that modern recordings seemingly lack.

Popular Post Trav Le Bleu 8,660 Posted 16 July 2019 Popular Post Report Share Posted 16 July 2019 Whole album 30 years old, could've been recorded yesterday. Also... Even earlier, 1986. Actually, pretty much everything Talk Talk did post It's My Life sounds like it could be any time from the 60s to the present day. (The first two albums are equally good but dated to the 80s in their synth/keyboard sound).
