Brexit!

Think you can add Rory Stewart to the For's as well as he's just admitted he was wrong to say Boris couldn't negotiate a new deal.

Says a lot about him to apologise as well, the other 300 odd mps, broadcasters, columnists and so called experts don't seem interested in doing so.

Yeah, got a lot of time for Rory Stewart. Eminently reasonable.

I wonder if he'll offer to return the whip??

Imagine if he not only gets Brexit through but also unites the party whilst doing it?

...I would not get too hung up on personality if I were you!!!

Hitler had personality, so much so he convinced a whole country to go to war and in the meantime resolve "the jewish problem".

Boris Johnson is everything to anyone, he tells you what you want to hear and lies to further his own ends. Suitably influenced by Trump his lust for power is only matched by his narcissistic obsessions.

The vote leave voters at the time somehow expected that the next day after the result they would have gained back the control of immigration and immediate self rule. On the face of it, that is akin to buying a house paying cash and then finding that there is subsidence, the drains are all blocked the whole house needs to be rewired and the roof was covered with tarpaulin as half the slates  had suffered "nail sickness".

The fact that there was no inspection of the dwelling has now cost you a fortune to now put right. The fact that the MPs have taken so long to implement what people believed to be an action requiring a cursory glance and a signature is down to due diligence and when there are problems, which,  down the line will cause you to have to part with your money and it is something you can legislate to prevent, then you reduce your exposure, you bring it to the sellers attention.

As soon as you mentioned Hitler I stopped reading.

Hopefully, the negotiations can be concluded quickly, so that this story can finally be put to bed. Fresh start for everyone involved.

All I‘ll add here is that there is a life outside the EU, and it‘s not even half as bad as one may think.;)

See Brexit as a chance, not a hindrance.

Yep. Mention Hitler in a political debate today, and you‘ve already lost the argument.

Normalizing genocide doesn‘t help finding consensus.

...I have not normalised genocide!!!!

Your comprehension of my post, leads me to the only view, that you hold an agenda, that is averse to an open discussion.

This doesn't go through which means what exactly if the EU do not grant an extension courtesy of the Benn Act?

Then it's No Deal.

By putting contemporary politicians, who have done by far less cruel things, on a pedestal with a maniac such as Hitler, normalizes genocide and dilutes the discussion surrounding national socialism and its heinous acts.

Do you know your history?

Again, it's all about instilling fear.

Such a post does absolutely nothing in order to advance the discussion, it's shallow, populist, stupid claptrap on the sidelines on its own that undermines our political achievements of today and what we had to overcome to get there.

He compared their respective personalities, so he did.

He used an example of someone who had personality that turned out to be a bad person. He didn't compare, he used an example.

Any idea what sort of time on Saturday the vote will be? Is there a general time these things are normally done, or just as the speaker decides?

House is sitting from 10-2 but with Bercow in charge anything can happen - could still be that there at 8.

I'd call that semantics.

He's clearly alluding to it at least, "...he tells you what you want to hear and lies to further his own ends." does indicate that.

Point stands that referring to Hitler in a hit piece on Boris Johnson adds absolutely nothing to the debate, other than populism, part as an attempt to stir up more controversy and fear.

I don't see how the Hitler comparison/example - which is absolutely extreme - is justified. Why Hitler? Why not somebody (much) less controversial?

BBC reckon it's currently 317 FOR, 322 AGAINST.

This could possibly get through.

FT has him two MP's behind but that's with only 7 Labour MP's backing him.

Because that's who he chose, he still didn't compare them. Just because it's an extreme example the point still stands that having one good trait doesn't exclude you from being on the whole bad. In fact using extreme examples, like Hitler on this case, makes the point clearer. Never in any way did he say Johnson is like Hitler. If you struggle to comprehend that, that's your problem, not his.

I mean you could say to me "Why don't you like me, I'm a Leicester fan?" And I could reply "Hitler (just for simplicity sake) was a Leicester fan, I don't like him." I'm not comparing you to him am I? I'm just saying being a Leicester fan doesn't mean I'll like you.

And back to the actual topic...

This is gonna be close. It could end up with Remainer MPs voting for this deal or ending up with no deal, which puts them in a catch 22 situation.

It will be very close.

Why no deal though? Am I missing something, or won't the PM be forced to comply with the Benn bill?
