KrefelderFox666 Posted 6 September 2019 Posted 6 September 2019 Obviously only 2 contenders here. For me, Vardy's finish was superb, great technique but helped by poor goalkeeping and he had a bit of time to think about it. The Barnes one, that was unstoppable and the way he picked that out of the air was incredible. He gets it for me on the basis that it was harder to score from that chance than Vardy's.

You said it was 'more accidental than controlled' What does that mean if it's not saying it's accidental (at some level anyway)??
ThaiFox Posted 6 September 2019 Posted 6 September 2019 Vardy v Bournemouth for me, just pipping Barnes. Both fantastic goals.
KingKoala Posted 6 September 2019 Posted 6 September 2019 The fact the good keeper could not move at all for the shot from the distance is the reason I choose Barnes.
Stadt Posted 6 September 2019 Posted 6 September 2019 You could stick three keepers in net and Barnes goal still isn’t getting saved. Absolutely cúnted it.

Its one of those shots that is quite simply unstoppable. Literally no goalkeeper in world football is saving it. I had to rep this excellent post. Partly because I agree about an incredibly perfect strike from Harvey ... and partly because of the correct use of "literally" on FT. The one time this year we'll see either of those things.

Suzie the Fox Posted 13 September 2019 Posted 13 September 2019 https://www.lcfc.com/news/1341514/barnes-goal-of-the-month-delight Harvey Barnes was thrilled to pick up a brace of monthly awards after his sensational half-volley against Sheffield United was named as both LCFC and Budweiser Goal of the Month. - Academy graduate Harvey Barnes spoke of an adrenaline rush after scoring the Budweiser Goal of the Month for August - Barnes’ stunner against Sheffield United also won Leicester City’s Goal of the Month - City next face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday (3pm BST kick-off) Leicester City supporters – as well as fans of other football clubs – selected Barnes’ strike as their favourite from the month of August, while Jamie Vardy’s effort against AFC Bournemouth was also nominated. The Academy graduate’s second goal for the Football Club came in emphatic fashion, as he hammered home the winner at Bramall Lane during the Foxes’ third outing of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign. “It’s a great award to pick up,” Barnes said. “I think when you get them goals, for me obviously it’s great, you get a real adrenaline rush. I think also to get the recognition, to get Goal of the Month, is great as well. Harvey Barnes picked up the Budweiser Goal of the Month award for August for his effort against Sheffield United. “I just knew I had to hit it! There were too many people in the box to take a touch, so I think it was just all about keeping my eye on the ball and making sure the technique and the contact was right. “As you saw in the goal, thankfully they were both there and, thankfully the ‘keeper didn’t get anything on it as well. I’ve played with Deano (Dean Henderson) a few times, so I know he’s capable of keeping them out, but thankfully it travelled a bit too quick for him.” Barnes’ goal against the Blades sparked wild celebrations in the away end, as City recorded their first victory of 2019/20. Someone caught me on the head I think with a little headbutt, but it’s all part of the celebrations! The adrenaline is high, but it was a great feeling for me! Harvey Barnes LCFC TV “Any sort of celebration, you plan before the game,” added Barnes. “I think in that sort of circumstance, where you’re scoring to put the team ahead and the emotions are high, I think they go out the window. “I just headed to the corner to celebrate with the fans. Obviously, Madders (James Maddison) and Hamza [Choudhury] all came over and jumped on me. “Someone caught me on the head I think with a little headbutt, but it’s all part of the celebrations! The adrenaline is high, but it was a great feeling for me!”

Clever Fox Posted 13 September 2019 Posted 13 September 2019 Fully deserved by Harvey. He could play for a lifetime and never score another Goal like that. Stunning strike.
KingsX Posted 13 September 2019 Posted 13 September 2019 Harvey trying to look appreciative at a cheap-ass plastic trophy uglier than a tallboy can of Bud. It would probably taste better than the beer TBF.
