Days Of Play thing going on at the minute which has Sony dropping prices of games and other bits up until the 9th of June I think it is, seems like the sale has also been passed onto retailers as I’ve just picked up a new controller for £49 instead of the £65 it was going for a few days ago (the new blue 1)

Finished the main storyline in HFW after 100 hours.  I could keep going and going until I've got all remaining data points, all the legendary gear fully upgraded, all overrides, all strike games and the arena complete but I'll break off it for now.  I'm at 92% completion.

 

Suffice to say the 5 year wait for this game was worth it but I hope the third installment comes sooner than that.  The second title has done a great job in answering the questions left over from the first game but obviously the greater threat still remains so it will be interesting to see where it goes from here with the lore and the world building.

 

The gameplay has been superb on hard difficulty and deserves a second playthrough on top difficulty when the ng+ comes along.

 

Problem from here is that everything is going to look very average until something really special drops.  I've just started TLOU2 and it looks nowhere near as good.  Perhaps I'll go to Ghost of Tsushima after that but HFW has set the bar very, very high on how good games need to look.  The Dead Space remake looks promising but beyond that I'm struggling to see where the next "wow" comes from.

They've literally waited until I platinumed the game 

 

I'm well into TLOU2, which is surprisingly better than I expected it to be, so will come back to it after.

As someone with no interest in horror, VR or Final Fantasy, not much there for me. Tunic looks nice but is probably the sort of thing I'd rather play on the Switch should it turn up there as well before too long and though it's nice to see Forbidden West's apparently ropey performance mode has had a facelift, I wasn't exactly blown away by the first game so not in any great hurry to try the sequel.

 

Oh, and Stray looks cute.

Plenty of horror games next year to keep me going.  Callisto looks decent as does RE4 and Dead Space is due soon too.  Beyond that I expect I'll pick up FFXVII at some point and the VR hardware once it's available.

Remastering spider man? Not convinced. Any game that's from the previous generation shouldn't be remastered it's just cash grabbing nonsense. Make a new game.

v1.14 on HFW has improved performance mode to fidelity mode in all but name.  It looks even sharper now and is running super smooth.  I never noticed this shimmering issue that many have pointed out either but then I'm not using an oled TV.  Also Ng+ has opened up 3 additional trophies that are going to be tough to get.  I'll be coming back to this over the summer for sure.

Going to get one other game aswell atm. What game would everyone recommend. Current thinking is Elden Ring

Am i reading HZD budle as in Horizon Zero Dawn bundle. As in you mean Horizon Forbidden West? If that is the case then im not sure having HFW and Elden Ring at the same time will do you much good. If i were you i would fully immerse myself in HFW and only get another game once you finish HFW. It is an incredible game that i believe you should play with no other distractions. Like Elden Ring or your kids

You're probably right no point ordering it now if I'm going to be getting stuck into HFW.  I dont tend to dip in and out of games tbf just focus on one at a time and then move on.  Elden Ring live up to the hype then? I did enjoy the Souls games so its up my street but are there other games that showcase what the PS5 can do a little better?

I cant speak for Elden Ring. I hated the souls games so Elden Ring can get in the bin . Never got the hype of dodge x 50 times then 1 quick stab.

 

HFW will showcase the PS5 more than enough. Im playing Judgement atm. If you liked Shenmue then this is very similar

Does look like something id be interested in to be fair.  I will give it a go in about 2026 i reckon 

 

Got AC Valhalla for my ps4 but gave up on that due to long loading times and unresponsive fighting and Ghost of Tsushima.  Might have to give Valhalla a second chance now.

I really enjoyed Valhalla. I played it to death and did all the DLC. Though Ragnarok has just come out which i havent played yet. If you like the AC games then Valhalla will be right up your street.

I'd go with Fenyx Rising over Valhalla.  Both good games but Valhalla is an absolute slog to play through past the 80 hour mark.  Took me 125 hours to platinum.  Fenyx Rising is another Ubisoft open world game but the scope is much smaller and more manageable.  I found it more enjoyable tbf and the fighting mechanics are more fun.

 

Beyond this you could go with Ratchet.

 

However, whatever you go to after HFW will not be as good.  Currently sets the bar for next gen games.

Well I already have Valhalla on PS4 so I can just upgrade to PS5.  Fenyx Rising would be adding to the never ending list.

 

Ratchet is an interesting one. I haven't played one since PS2 so maybe I should give it another try
