My favourite thing about this photo is that I took it myself. Set my camera up on a tripod with a 10 second timer and ran into position.

Some absolute stunners in there - particularly Wanaka (WOW), Vietnam and Montenegro.

 

Haven't been to the latter two but my one regret from living in New Zealand is not travelling with my camera enough. That's OK though, because I KNOW I'm going back one day.

I have an Olympus OMD E-M10 MKII, it's nice little compact camera, nothing too bulky or heavy, I'm only a hobby photographer so this suits me down to the ground. All but the last two pictures (iPhone shots) were taken with it.

I got it years back off eBay, it was second hand but in mint condition so I managed to get it for £450 ish from memory. It came with the standard starter kit which was a pancake lens (14-42mm) and a 40-150mm lens. I'm pretty sure there is a MKIII out now so you'd probably be able to bag a bargain if you shopped around.

A little later on down the line I purchased an additional 45mm lens (https://shop.olympus.eu/en_GB/lenses/om-d-pen-lenses/m-zuiko-digital-45mm-f1-8) as I wanted a bit more depth in some of my photos and I definitely got that. A few examples below:

 

 

 

I'd definitely recommend it to anyone like myself though who wants an easy point and shoot camera. Well worth the investment.

Like yourself I lived there for a number of years, and I'm so glad I have these photos to look back on, even if it is putting me on a huge downer on this horrible grey day!

 

That shot in Wanaka is on top of Roys Peak, you can hike up there or take a 30 minute helicopter ride, highly recommended!

Additionally, if you like planes take a look at the company Learn to Fly NZ, they're based in Wanaka too. I did the 1hr trial flight where you do all the flying, the take off and landing. You go over Lake Wanaka and over to Mt Aspiring, you get the most amazing views flying around the edge of the mountains there looking down on the glaciers, everywhere you look is honestly incredible. I massively regret not taking more photos or even getting the other pilot to take a few videos, I spent the whole time sh*tting myself so I never really relaxed and enjoyed the views
