Southampton was understandable. But Palace was ridiculous. We always travel in numbers to London, no matter if TV or not.

To be fair we sold out Southampton with about a week or so to go, I think if we took the remaining 800 of so we would have shifted most of them in that time, and more people could have been there to see the resulting spectacle!

I am sure we would have sold them in the end but the club I think needs to make a decision 2-3 weeks before the match so the home team can sell if required. However, if we would have been playing average, we probably wouldn't have been able to sell.

I think going forward, the club will take full allocations as demand is there again now that we are successful.

Nice to see positive comments from opposition fans. I have to take issue with this, though. We don't have much more money than Palace, our wage bills are almost identical (see tweet) and have been for a few years. Difference is, we spend well and then sell on & re-invest, they don't (Sahko, Benteke etc)

True, however, the majority of CPFC's income over the last 10 years has come from operational income (match day spending, merchandise, tickets etc), ours is very high owner financing.

However, drilling down to single year income, we are pretty much neck and neck with Palace in terms of how much money we generate. Stadiums not vastly different sizes, both finishing in similar areas of the league. If we get Champions League football next season though, it will change pretty much everything.

The difference of note is the ability, definitely not willingness (given we just took out loans with an Australian bank) for our owners to offer 0% interest loans. Palace's ownership is murky compared to ours, 68% of the club is owned by a Delaware business which hasn't identified its own owners. However, it's speculated (rather than proven) that American investors operate an equal 18% stake in Palace to match Steve Parish's share.

I only watched it on the telly, but the noise from the fans was loud and discernible throughout. I didn’t really hear anything from the Palace fans, which is disappointing as I thought their ground had a reputation for being one of the noisiest.

It may, of course, had been different if their team had given them more to shout about but, purely from a telly perspective, I thought it was a good effort from our travelling support.👌

Not necessarily. It's a contributing factor to it.

I had to bin my Porto ticket for example because I had to commit before it selling out then couldn't offload it when I couldn't make it. Just as people buy tickets now knowing it is going to sell out but then other things come up - then sometimes it's finding the right place to sell it on.

It's not like there's the option to pay on the gate anymore - allowing others people lower down the priority to get hold of tickets, the club don't take tickets back (or is that just home games?) and the tickets go on sale so far in advance you don't always know what else is going on that day.

Do you mean porto away,  we bought tickets out there as did hundreds of others ,strange you couldn't sell it.

I go to Selhurst quite a bit and it's not very loud at all. The holmesdale corner give it a good go which is where the rep comes from, but they're in too few number to make much of an impact.

West Norwood is a second home and so I have also attended matches every season over the last few years - solely as a result of the fact that there is sometimes a spare season ticket up for grabs through a friend in the Arthur Watt stand. My experience is completely the opposite of yours - some of the loudest fans in the country per head when the entire ground is on song...but yes, I can see why you attribute this to the supposed ultras in the Holmesdale.

Yeah, through the club your ticket had to match your passport details. There was no point me trying to sell it someone when they could get them anyway or fly out there only to be turned away using mine.

Never in my life time did I expect to rip up an unused Champions League away ticket whilst there's a Rotherham paint trophy stub sat in my collection lol

Opposition fans may start to realise, wind Vardy up at your peril.

Think we need to start a list of fans he's silenced over the years.

I mean we've had Sheff Utd, Burnley and Crystal Palace this year alone.

Tone of their assessment in general seems to be that we weren't exceptional but just outclassed them in all hours and I agree. They matched us fairly well but we just had extra in all areas and broke them down and I totally agree with that. That's what superior sides do, the 1-0 grinds and the emphatic thrashings count the same in the end.

The club have been promising to provide a proper ticket exchange service for at least two seasons but haven't. As we all know, it's illegal to sell football tickets even at face value which results in empty seats when there are fans desperate to go. I can understand the policy is to stop touts but genuine fans are missing out.

Surprised the Foxes Trust haven't got involved in this.
