Koke Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 Vardy - as someone else said, rat-faced weasel but seems to have recovered his form from the title season. Tomkins struggled to contain him.Turkish CB - absolutely superb front and back. So much better than Maguire.Overall team are not brilliant but had so much more energy than us.Fans were quite loud but couldnt hear them too much from the lower holmesdale.Btw Where do away fans drink these days? Rarely see them around the ground. -- Ndidi - One of the best CDMs in EuropeTielemans - No idea why a bigger club didn’t come in for himMaddison - Should be starting every match for EnglandPereira and Chilwell - Second best starting full backs in the league after Liverpool’s -- Maddison is quality but Southgate has a problem with his attitude. -- I'd expect them to be about 4th at the end of the season. They were just an all round good, professional team. -- I was very impressed with them and have been this season under Brendan Rodgers. Their first 11 are very good. Both full backs outstanding.Ndidi - Does what Kante used to do for themVardy - still as good and we fed his desire by winding him up.Overall see them finishing top 4. They are a team with a purpose. No shame losing to them. -- Leicester were organised and pacy. But we nullified them in the first half, without causing them any real problems.Second half, their quality in nearly all areas started to tell.Their No4 (Soyuncu?) was great. Everything he did look calm and unruffled, always seemed to have time and space on the ball.Idiotic taunting meant a nailed-on Vardy goal in response.Their fans were anonymous until they scored, but were pretty vocal (from Block X, AW) for the rest of the game.Overall, they're a team on the rise with money to burn. Would have seemed unthinkable a little while ago, but could they even be a surprise bidder for WZ? I'd say they're a more attractive option than the likes of Everton -- Impressive professional performance by Leicester. Good passing and movement and dangerous on the break. Both Centre Backs were very solid we never looked like scoring. Evans gave us real problems as well with his height from Corners. Vardy upped his game after hearing some songs about his Wife! Was a real menace and deserved his late goal. Fans pretty good effort made some noise. Didn't take up full allocation but Sunday on TV and early k.o. probably a big factor. Think most away fans drink near London Bridge quick to Norwood Junction and loads of pubs close to the station. Think Rodgers is doing a great job think they will be Top 4 get in Champs League spots. -- Ndidi was pure class. We had 3x DF Midfielders and he showed what a single top quality one can do.He just sits in that gap, closes down, distributes well and fills in wherever he’s needed --
Dahnsouff Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 Yes, read some feedback from the Palace fans. Very complimentary on the whole.
sylofox Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 Nice to read some real straight comments from opposition fans.
Deeg67 Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 Those comments are reflective of the nature of the game itself. Nothing crazy - they're a decent side and played a decent match, and we were a notch or two better all over the pitch. Result reflected that. It was a very businesslike, calm and confident performance.
Pliskin Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 We should be kind to them, considering we took £13 odd million?? off them for Schlupp....
Out Foxed Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 “Overall team are not brilliant” but mentions loads of players being quality.
UniFox21 Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 Read the palace forums and they were on the whole fairly complementary. But also fairly disappointed with themselves and how little they threatened

Very little of their own creation lad to an attack or chance, which would be the worrying thing.

He had to work hard to win the ball himself and then tried to counter but that never really came off. Shows he doesn't have that much support from his teammates

That doesn't suit how to use your creative player, if he's spending all game winning the ball back, he isn't going to be creating much
Free Falling Foxes Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 Opposition fans may start to realise, wind Vardy up at your peril.
jayfox26 Posted 5 November 2019 Posted 5 November 2019 The comment about our fans being quiet until we scored and not filling the allocation makes me laugh. We know we are not always the most vocal, but most of the time we fill our away allocation. No issues taking shit on our support from clubs with huge support and fan bases, who always sell out but Palace. Come on be serious. Other than that, the comments on the whole are complimentary but most people are at the moment as we are playing well and getting good results.

Made me chuckle too… I was in the away end and the people around me didn’t stop singing, I thought the support was class. They have one stand that makes their noise the other three stands are terrible - didn’t hear a thing!

I have to take issue with this, though. We don't have much more money than Palace, our wage bills are almost identical (see tweet) and have been for a few years. Difference is, we spend well and then sell on & re-invest, they don't (Sahko, Benteke etc)

They have one stand that makes their noise the other three stands are terrible - didn’t hear a thing! Yep that was my experience too. In fact I would have given the away end a solid 8/10 if not better as it was great fun. Better IMO than the away end at Chelsea or Man U. After Soyuncu scored, it was particularly awesome! Was very surprised at how quiet Palace were. It's not always the loudest at the KP, but given that Palace started that weekend in 6th place after 10 games and had smashed us the last time we played I was surprised at how indifferent they seemed. They always play a video before the match starts about them "having one of the best atmosphere's in the Premier League" but if they do, then they keep it a pretty well guarded secret. Speaking to some Palace fans after the game, they respect Roy Hodgson but find it tough to watch their team these days because they are so defensively setup, which probably explains the relative lack of atmosphere. Even Hodgson said after the game that fans shouldn't expect their team to score many goals with the resources they have, which says it all. But you have to give him some credit as Norwich try and play good stuff but are second bottom, whereas Palace are pragmatic and are comfortably mid table. We are just very, very fortunate to have such an exciting attacking team that is also very effective. These are truly the good times as a Leicester fan so enjoy it whilst you can!

Not a single Palace player under 23 has played this season. It's crazy when you think about it. Every CPFC player who has played this season is over the age of 23. Their team need investment in several areas.

You can only sell what the club give you though. The website said it has sold out so it was either people moving to other areas of the away end or people snapping up tickets to keep their priority points up.

Think it's weird that the club didn't take full allocation personally, same with Southampton the other week as well.

Southampton was understandable. But Palace was ridiculous. We always travel in numbers to London, no matter if TV or not.

It's a contributing factor to it. I had to bin my Porto ticket for example because I had to commit before it selling out then couldn't offload it when I couldn't make it. Just as people buy tickets now knowing it is going to sell out but then other things come up - then sometimes it's finding the right place to sell it on. It's not like there's the option to pay on the gate anymore - allowing others people lower down the priority to get hold of tickets, the club don't take tickets back (or is that just home games?) and the tickets go on sale so far in advance you don't always know what else is going on that day.
