WestLothianFox Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 I was fortunate to have a ticket for the Sevilla game. I will never forget the atmosphere and noise, you had to shout to your mate standing beside you. I always though the 4-3 FA cup replay win against Man City was good, but the Sevilla one was amazing
LC/FC Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 If you think these games are good, then just wait till we get to the champions league final

Football's revisionists would have you believe Tottenham threw the title away and Chelsea won it for us that night. We won the league by ten points, it's mad, we romped the league really. We won it by our own accord. When Chelsea were five points clear with like ten games left people were saying it was an insurmountable lead. Yet the media were acting like we were clinging by our finger nails. Load of rubbish. There wasn't a title race at the end there was a procession. People talk about that game like it was the best game of the season for us. The journey to get to that point contained 36 games I was more enthralled by than that. If we didn’t win it that Monday night we had 2 games left, one against a checked out Everton and the other against a mid-table Chelsea side who plenty of Spurs fans were convinced were going to throw the game anyway. Doesn't sit well with me the way people go on about the Hazard goal like it “won us the title”, it was virtually immaterial in the scheme of things. What won us the title was the 9 months of superb, largely entertaining football that preceded it.
Aus Fox Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 I’m going to throw a random game into the mix. If my memory serves me correctly, after a couple of seasons at the top end of the Championship, we traveled to who I believed at the time were favourites for the Championship QPR. We has just lost 3 on the spin after an encouraging start to the season. We went to Loftus Rd and put in a real shift, we ground out a 1-0 win with Vardy on the scoresheet. After that o think we went on a roll, and from that day on we all knew we would win the Championship and go up. Nuge even chased a squirrel around, little games like this lay the foundations for what would follow.
bovril Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 If you're talking games that defined the decade, then I think you should have the loss to Watford in 2013.
deanolegend1989 Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 Much as I loved the Sevilla game and the CL run, I always have a slight disappointment because of the team we had that year was not quite as good as it could be. I always wonder if we had Kante in there what would of happened! or now this current squad, what could achieve? I’d go as far as saying if we keep this team together and we qualify, we could genuinely win the CL next year 😮. We performed great in the CL and was a great occasion Sevilla, but I always felt vs Athletico that they weren’t actually that good and we should of got to the semis. They cheated a win in the first leg and we were a bit unfortunate in the 2nd leg. If we had our midfield now we’d of ripped them a new arsehole. exciting times but that’s always the slight upset I have when thinking about that CL run.

sdb Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 What a decade! You could throw so many other games in there too, from promotions, great escapes, titles, record breaking feats and champions league campaigns. Utterly absurd.
deanolegend1989 Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 So many great moments it’s unbelievable really! We are probably currently with a team that’s better than we’ve ever had so could make even more memory’s. new training ground next year, stadium expansion, potential CL next year? Maybe a cup final this year? Assuming we don’t get relegated this year, our longest run in the top flight since the Premierleague formed, Our world class striker hitting 20 for a 3rd time? Top scorer of the prem? Joining the 100 goal club? Outside(very outside) chance of a title push? unbelievable times and more memories to be made. We have a chance of becoming a bigger club by creating more and more history in this era. Great Escape EPL Champions CL QF Transisiton - Phase out the winners, build. Progression/New Era - Better manager, Maddison Perrera Youri CL And Top 6 push - Built a squad paying off. hopefully keep this squad together for a few years be build another era! So exciting , never been as excited in this international break! Bring on Brighton!
shailen Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 West ham at home in the great escape season felt like a real turning point. First game with clappers as well and a scrappy goal from the club legend that is Andy King. Really felt like momentum changed after the game and we all know what happened after.
Vlad the Fox Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 1 - 0 away v spurs when we won the league felt like a very big win at the time.

Reg Vardy Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 Chelsea at home 2-1 Mahrez corkscrew, Jose fired...
Kitchandro Posted 22 November 2019 Posted 22 November 2019 It's easy to forget but the Cardiff Play-Off semi-final is still one of the best games I've ever seen and I will always have a soft spot for that first Pearson team. For everything that has happened since, that was the season where I started to fall back in love with the club (before Puel made me hate it again) and that gallant performance was Pearson all over. 47 minutes ago, shailen said: West ham at home in the great escape season felt like a real turning point. The West Ham game should be number 1, let alone in the top 11. That match was THE one. We were dead an buried before that game, and it completely chaged the course of our history. Had we lost, I doubt we'd have been able to pick ourselves up again. But that was the day the whole club showed it's true colours, even before kick off you could sense that we were going to win. We were just not going to accept our position. Also Arsenal accidentally hexing themselves in both games against us during the title season. After the first one we stopped leaking goals, after the 2nd one we didn't lose another game. I was proud of our performance in both defeats because we took the game to them - and that was the defining quality of that team: football with cojones.

LC/FC Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 The 5-3 against Utd is the game for me that first triggered the realisation and understanding how good we could actually be. The hunger, the fight back, the character, the team spirit. Everything about that game showed all the hallmarks of the Leicester mentality and ethos we'd have come to create under Nigel and the owners and continue to keep up now. Obviously we weren't consistent enough to pull it off for a long while after, up until we started the great escape run, which it finally started to actually stick when we finally got used to the league and stopped playing within our own ability. But it was definitely that Man Utd game for me that showed me what Leicester was capable of doing if they'd cut let themselves loose and play with the confidence and conviction they previously exuded during the points record championship winning season before. We were better than anyone knew or realised, including ourselves. We could go toe to toe and come out on top. Then we survived and then it was the 2015-2016 season. And we all know what happened then. Wow!
