Kyle_Le_Don Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 My son is going to be 5 in january. We usually just have a little party for him at home and invite some family and friends over. Now hes at school we think it would be nice to invite his school friends somewhere. With it being in january it would probably be best being indoors. Was just wondering if anyone had any good experiences of somewhere something they have done for similar age groups? Leicester based as some families may find it difficult to travel too far. Thanks
Milo Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 We did a bugs one for my sons 5th birthday last year. Was at home, but sure you could do it in a hall or something. Bloke came in with snakes, lizards, cockroaches and all manner of creepy crawlies. Kids loved it! And this year we did a mad science party for him and his class. Again someone came in and did loads of fun experiments with them. Both franchised and national, I think, but give me a shout if you want and I’ll dig out the names.

The kids run around going mental for an hour, have something to eat afterwards then fall asleep for a week. Perfect https://www.boosttrampolineparks.co.uk/whats-on/leicester-timetable
FoxesDeb Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 Bounce the trampoline place is good, so is the football centre on Freeman's Common
MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 I took my son to the Wacky Warehouse at the Two Steeples in Wigston. They do parties -- and serve alcohol!
jonthefox Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 I took my kids here https://www.lopc.co.uk/. They all loved it and it has a room for food and cake etc.
Dr The Singh Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 I hired a couple of strippers for my sons birthday
MPH Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 give him a bag of Jam sandwiches and send him to Abby Park for the day. Sorted.
Wymsey Posted 23 November 2019 Posted 23 November 2019 The Hobby Horse restaurant in Syston still has a big children's play area, as far as I'm aware (haven't visited for a few years now). Think the restaurant got took over a couple of months ago (?), so not completely sure.

Hired a village hall with a bouncy castle for a couple of hours. Easiest just to try and keep things simple! He went to a similar one a few months back and for food they just got a load of cobs and then someone popped to the chippy and got a load of chips. Chip cobs all round! So simple and everyone loved it!

Kyle_Le_Don Posted 24 November 2019 Author Posted 24 November 2019 Thanks for all the replies it's much appreciated it's difficult having a birthday straight after xmas but want it to be a special one. If you have any extra info on the party bus idea and the guy that bring the creepy crawlies that would be great!

Company we used is called Jaws n Claws, but I think they might be local to us, and not national. I’m sure there are other ones closer.
kingcarr21 Posted 27 November 2019 Posted 27 November 2019 Had the party bus for my daughter a few years ago, personally think 5 years old is too young. Not easy for parents to get amongst it on the bus if things go bad (kids that age always fight/cry etc) That age I think a village hall and bouncy castle you cant go wrong with. Nice and cheap and the kids will love it. Or even a swimming party, but parents need to go in too. My daughter is now 13 and she has had various parties, Party bus, Limo, Pamper parties, village hall a few times, Hot Tub party. All of them were great. Spoilt little s*** For a 5 year old I don't think you can go wrong with a simple village hall and bouncy castle. Although the creepy crawlies mentioned above sounds like a great idea.
