It's a shame someone can't massively invest in somewhere like Fort William and see how far they can go, and to jig things up a bit..

There's a couple of clubs had investment but there simply isn't the income (or fan interest from either in or outside Scotland) to keep them going beyond a certain ceiling, especially when the Old Firm swallow so much of the Scottish fanbase. Kelty, Gretna, maybe Cove(?) have all tried but ultimately levelled out, or fizzled out. I don't think you'll ever see an investor take a club from outside the professional pyramid and take them all the way to the top tier for generations, if ever.

Why?

The populations of such settlements make it a complete financial non starter. Literally a handful of people watch Fort William.

Hearts or Hibs be a good investment but people have been there and done it. You’d need to literally spend four to five years of a lot of cash to give yourself the foundation.

Hibs are still shite but thankfully Montgomery has gone. Marcondes and Maolida the only good signs and they were both on loan. Apparently some frogs want Youan for £2m+ which they should take despite him being handy.

There really is no excuse for either Edinburgh club or Aberdeen to finish in that bottom half given what they spend. So much money down the drain on rubbish. Hibs need to bite the bullet and get McInnes in and just be solid for a bit.

There is no return in it. Just a black hole to throw your money into.

Arbroath we're actually first choice for Rob McElhenney to buy before the Wrexham thing because that's were his family are from but he recognised that there is absolutely no pay off for it.

They've had a rough few years, and the training ground in Fife idea was mental, but it's a crying shame if they can't get funding and go into Admin.

Really enjoyed my trips there, but they just aren't well supported enough to make money under the current structure.

Busses leave Inverness for the OF every weekend, and you see people around there wearing OF shirts.

Seriously, FTOF.

Might be a bit niche, but here's to announce your first 9 games of the season.

(apologies for Harry Potter 1st up)

Better draw for St Mirren than St Johnstone ?

Both Killie and St Mirren fans have gone loopy over their European games this season.

Killie sold out 2.5k for Belgium next week and St Mirren's return into Europe is seen as a once in a generation event.

St Mirren should go through and Killie will find it tough but have Conference league as a safety net.

Dundee derbies are mostly decent.

2 1 now, Dundee should be favourites but their record at Tannadice is awful.

no tippy tappy play it out from the back stuff on show , just get it forward 😁 .

Hearts Rangers was similar as well.

Raith Rovers finished 2nd in the league last season.

They've sacked their manager after one game, a loss.

There has to be more to it than this.

Maybe Martin Allen style.

David Gray clearly wasn’t wanted by the yanks who invested in Hibs. He’ll be gone fairly soon.

Hmmm. The Yanks have been quite hands off so far save a couple of underwhelming loanees from Bournemouth (apart from Marcondes who was far too good for Hibs, just rusty). It's a shame they're not too involved in the day to day because Bill Foley seems really switched on as an owner. Hibs are crap but they do tend to give their managers time, Nick Montgomery should've been out on his arse well before the end of last season – hiring / firing falls mainly on Ron Gordon's son Ian, Malky Mackay and a bloke called Ben Kensell rather than Foley / Black Knight themselves. But their whole boardroom structure is a bit of a mess, Leanne Dempster was the last seemingly competent director they had and she left four years ago.

Their player recruitment is a shambles, Brian McDermott came in as DoF last season and didn't last 12 months. A bloated squad full of crap – or people who simply forget how to play football. Keeper, centre half and centre mid have been unsettled problem positions for ages.

If they can get a back four of

Obita - O'Hora - Ekpiteta - Miller/Cadden

Playing together every week with rather than a revolving door of chancers they might be solid, but I'm not holding any breath.

Foley said those actually running Hibs are seemingly not taking on a lot of advice they get given
