Of all the games you have played, who is your favourite character, and why?

 

For me, it has to be Guybrush Threepwood (and I'll instantly become best friends with anyone who knows the series he appears in)

 

Those games were brilliant and matched up to my sense of humour perfectly.

Monkey Island gave me many hours of joy as a kid.

Great thread. 

 

Garrett from the Thief series. One of gaming's great antiheroes. A sardonic, cynical misanthrope with one of the best gruff voices in games.

When Looking Glass / Ion Storm shut their doors, many of the devs went to work at Arkane / Bethesda, and went on to develop Dishonored. The latter is the true spiritual successor to the original Thief games IMO (The recent Thief re-boot was doggo) and they took the same voice actor to voice Corvo Attano.

 

EDIT: I fu*king love this game. I miss when games were this good.

Mate, there's an enhanced edition of both BG 1 and BG 2 complete with all the expansions. They should be on steam.

Larian, who make the Divinity Original Sin series, are currently working on a Baldur's Gate 3 as well.

I'd heard there was a third in the offing.

 

I barely open Steam these days as it's just so cheap and I end up eyeing up something that I don't need. Like Baldur's Gate hahaha. 

 

As soon as I've finished Bioshock, The Witcher, and The Nathan Drake games I'll be all over this.

I can honestly say that in the history of games, TV, films, life itself the image I have seen more than any other is the back of my own Donkey Kong shadow on Mario Circuit 1 on the original Mario Kart.  It was the only thing in my life I have ever been legit world class at.  Shame it was something useless.  I could probably race that track blindfolded.  What a sad fvcking loser.  X
