What was our nett balance for player purchases / sales for the period? Around £40m?

That still leaves a £30m gap!

No because, KDH was probably used to balance the season before

When I adopted a back of a fag packet calculation some months ago I suggested that anything over a £40 million loss would cause problems and at that time I thought the loss would be around that number but i genuinely thought  both wages and amortisation would be lower. So on the face of it I fear an incoming charge.

What concerns me even more is that using the chart the suggestion is that 25/26 has to deliver no more than a £11 million ish loss if  yet another charge is to be avoided.

I’m not faulting Borson’s logic, but the club has apparently filed a compliant PSR submission for last season and the media seems convinced that no more charges will be forthcoming. So there seems to be sharp disagreement on this matter.

You are so selective haha. I admire your optimism but it's utterly blind - has been for ages

Even if we survive this season, we'll be comfortable favourites to drop next I'd imagine, we haven't paid for a player since Woyo Coulibaly, we'll lose Fatawu to essentially service the debt, signing James is a pipedream. It'll be a lower standard of player coming in. You see other teams in this division branching out and signing players from Europe - they're spending a fair bit themselves now, while we're just patching up our mess all of the time, invariably getting it wrong. Further decline is inevitable regardless of who owns us now. But I have no faith whatsoever, and how anybody does is beyond me, that this lot could turn this around.

What'll add insult to injury is if the ownership changes, you can bet your bottom dollar that the new ones will get all of the blame for the mess that Aiyawatt and Rudkin have put us in. "You wanted them out and it's still bad" or "you wanted them out and we're still in the shit". They are Aiyawatt and King Power above all.

Your last paragraph is something I have said a few times. Any prospective buyer will bide their time and wait. Both financially and for the reason you highlight. Wait until we have absolutely bottomed out. Why would someone pay bigger money, to inherit a mess that has a way to go to bottom out, and be on the hook for it from a large section of the fan base?

This club is actually worse than this labour government at running the finances.

Said genuinely, be careful what you wish for!

The Facebook KPFC line seems to be, it's ok all clubs lose money. We're lucky to have an owner who puts money in. 😂

I’ve actually just found my notes when I put together my PSR estimates.

22/23 loss £89m allowables £29m  number for PSR £60m loss

23/24 loss £19m allowables £29 m number for PSR £10m profit

24/2* loss £71 m allowables £29 m  number for PSR £42 m loss. In my initial calculations I believed it would be £30 m

Three years £92m against allowable £83m

I should add that some of the income numbers such as gate receipts were higher than I expected and I have used the same number for academy and woman’s football.

The other real problem is the lack of saleable playing assets, none of these players are likely to bring in big money through transfer fees. It's a struggle to see where the revenue comes from next season should relegation happen.

The club has literally filed a PSR compliant submission for the period in which we incurred the £70m loss. I don’t see how mentioning that fact is being ‘selective’…

I must admit I haven’t fully read the accounts but do the club say that or do they something along the lines of we believe we are compliant?

Charitably, earlier you were predicting a £20M loss. Now you seem on board with a £70M+ loss, on the hope (and not knowledge) that it is compliant. What would "bad" look like to you?

It's a struggle to see where the revenue comes from if we stay up. The club has run out of money. And for the first time ever, they've more or less admitted it..

Never mind! Strictly will still be on and at least we'll best the traffic

What the **** are you going on about? Where have I said I’m on board with a £70m loss? What makes you think I don’t think a £70m loss is bad? Please feel free to quote me if I’ve said any of these things. Or were you just making them up?

My only comment has been about the PSR situation, and all I’ve said on that is that the club has apparently submitted a PSR compliant filing for 24/25. Whether the PL accepts that filing at face value is another matter.

Oof!

How bad are things at the minute? How do you rate our leadership, and the general direction of the club?

Just interested, cos you seem to try to minimise issues in every post

Well, you poo pooed the reports of a 70m loss about an hour before it was released and then your posts suggest it's all ok, as 70m is still PSR compliant..

The real point is PSR is the least of our problems. We are months away from  going out of existence..

The club is a shambles. We’re an object lesson in the stupidity of hereditary rule. I think we’ll probably scrape survival this season because I have a feeling Rowett will get us there, but I have no confidence in our general direction while Top is in charge.

Fair do's, succinct and 100 % correct. I'll stand down with a mild apology for picking an argument ;-)

(I too think Rowett probably has what it takes to strangle survival. I have no idea if that will actually be good for *our* club)

I've come to the conclusion Top spent all his money on AI bots to defend him on Leicester City Facebook pages.

There's no way even people from Beaumont Leys and Hinckley are that thick.
