  1. 1. How many points do you think LCFC will finish the season on?

    • 32-50 - meltdown
      0
    • 51-65 - a bit short of what might have been?
    • 66-80 - top 4?
    • 81+ - could we get THIS many again?

I've tried to make these 4 categories broad, with the first (hopefully) unlikely, the middle 2 meeting at a likely figure we could be close to, and the last one starting on a very special number indeed...

I've gone on the positive side of 65....Plenty of scope for specific finishing totals within the discussion of course.

71 if we keep our current form going, we’ve played away at Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal and Spurs 4 traditionally really tough games for us. If we can keep everyone fit, I see no reason why we can’t keep up or even improve this form.

This season if anyone can get on a run of 6-10 wins on the spin they are genuine title challengers.

The way the league is going, mid 80's could win it.

Find some consistency at home and against the lower clubs, there's no reason why we can't top 80 points.

Especially when you consider we've already played tough away games at Liverpool, Man City, Spurs and Arsenal.

Although I fear points dropped to the likes of Fulham, West Ham and Villa will ultimately cost us. (No disrespect to those sides, the latter two are having good seasons, but the real top teams will beat those more often than not)

Could see us getting in the 60s. But as with anything, it's the final position that counts more than the points total. Top 4 should be our aim

I agree, but that poll's been done, and my feeling is 66-80 will get the job done.

70+ would be absolutely fantastic and shows how far we’ve come if we get above there!

Other than big 6 teams, only Newcastle in 01/02, Everton in 13/14 and Leicester in 15/16 have got more than 70+ points in a 38 game season since 95/96.
Its incredibly difficult and shows how far we’ve come if we could do it for a 2nd time. With a Premier league medal to add to our 2 league cups, we’d be right up with the biggest competitors to the overall big 6 in the Premier league era.

This should be the target and should get top 4.

Over 60+ is usually a pretty decent season for anyone outside of the top 6. Doesn’t happen that often and is a good season in general to get above 60.

Below 30s relegation

30-40s relegation or lucky survivors

40-50s cannon fodder

50-60s solid season.

For our squad and team, 60-65 should be minimum requirement.

65-70 strong successful season, in my opinion probably about on par with what we should be achieving.

70+ a realistic but very good target if met. Probably the level I’d call it a ‘fantastic season’ and ‘overachieved’.

Anything above 75 then Its sensational, but who knows in this crazy league this year.

Ill estimate we get 61 and be a little disappointed.

Id like to hope we hit the 70 mark because then for me we can generally start making a claim that we creating some history and consistency at a very elite level and really being part of the big boys.

Ultimately we could get 4th with 65 or 6th with 70 but the points is a good indication of how good you are and then things should work their way out.

If we get 70 and not get top 4 we’ve been unlucky.

A lot depends on keeping everyone fit.

Going deep in the Europa League could have an impact.

For me beating last seasons total would be a great effort

Just 10 more wins and a draw to get there.

I don’t see us finishing top 4 , we have no viable alternative to Vardy and as long as that remains we are not really a top 4 team, we have an exceptional manager and Great spirit in the camp but when Vardy doesn’t play we are poor, overall to make that jump from best of the rest to top 4-6 team consistently we need a strong A and B option, Chelsea and Arsenal are in false positions owing to poor managers, put Brendan in either club and they would possibly leap frog us.

the investment needed now to solidify and move into a “top 4” position on a longer term is likely to cost fortunes

lets just enjoy the ride and see what happens

id like to see us out of Europe and fa cup ASAP and focus on a top 4 position that would be HUGE , but so fear we just will fall short again

Liverpool/United/Spurs/Man City will be top 4 with ourselves and Everton battling for best of the rest

Gone for 51-65 but given the way this season is going, it may be enough for top 4. Especially if top can only manager perhaps around 80 points to win the league.

I guess a secondary question might be - where will the division divide? At the moment the Top 10 are all within 7 (potentially 10) points of one another. How many teams will sustain 2ish points per game?

Having looked at the remaining fixtures and made CONSERVITIVE predictions, I reckon we will end up on about 65 points although were that will leave us in the table I have no idea but I can see us being 5th again.
