Squad for the first test looks a bit light without the IPL lads. What would everyone's XI be? Think I'd go:

Crawley

Bracey

Root

Lawrence

Pope

Foakes

Overton

Robinson

Broad

Anderson

 

No spinner but Root/Lawrence can always chuck a few down. Harsh on Wood but very interested to see how Robinson handles Test cricket. His lines and lengths have apparently been immaculate in the Championship so far.

They’re quite a good bunch of chaps the kiwis . I enjoy playing them especially under McCullum a few years back .
