Doubt they’ll get that long. I’d imagine they’ll bat two sessions and set us around 500?

If India are going to bowl England out, they'll need a target of 400+ and likely more than a day to do it. That means them batting until a pretty specific time period tomorrow afternoon.

If they can score 260 in two sessions in the same way England can, then fair enough. Would be one of the few situations where this England team would have to go for the draw.

Gotta get our target by 5pm. Put England into bat late on and try and snare a few wickets like this morning.

Whatever target we set (higher or not), if rain affects England's innings it lessens the time they can chase or for India to bowl them out.

Lead of 285. If we can get a lead of 500 by middle of third session I'd sit comfortable. Can't give England a full four sessions, and even I'd be surprised if England pulled that off in one day.

Problem India have is they have a few mental scars after England have chased 370+ against them twice in the last 3 years.

 

They will want a lead of 450-500 thats going to take time out the game.

500 would be a crazy amount to chase down, I think we can do it but not sure we will. We won’t play for a draw, that’s for sure.

Would break the record chase to win a test by around 80 runs.

Yeah, England aren't chasing 500. If India get to that kind of lead there won't be the time to chase it and even this England team will accept that discretion is the better part of valour there.

 

The only way England are winning this is if they bowl them out for 420-odd target maximum.
