All the talk of "Bazball with brains" lasted for a while didn't it.

You only need to look at the Indian scorecard to know that you need to get yourself in to score runs on this pitch. But this lot just cannot help themselves. There's no thought process aside from "lets go for it".

Just get yourself in and score from there. You've been put in to chase 600 at 5pm. Just see the new ball off and press the accelerator then. Root will go big but run out of partners as we're bowled out for 300.

Brook is in now looking like a cat on a hot tin roof.

Keep on with those reverse mockers, he's just put Siraj into the stand. lol

Forget Rehan's bowling, he's a class top order batter as well.

I think there's a gap in quality between county and Test batting that better batters than Rehan have failed to bridge, but who knows?

He brings more to the side in batting and bowling than Bashir though, so I stick with like for like.

Well we’re probably out of this one unless Root or someone does something special .

Fair play to Gill - fantastic innings and helped by strong lower order resistance this time .

Bit early with 7 in the hunch and another inns to go think we are out of this.

India couldn’t have asked for a better start.

Unplayable delivery to get Stokes.

Not quite but I think a final innings chase of 550+ would be too much. Therefore we need to at least get to 250-300 here, which Brook can do alone he’s that good.

Looking a lot worse after this morning start.

I would bet just yet, India have shown they capable of losing from a winnable position.

England bat deep.

I wouldn’t back any team to avoid the follow on with 5 wickets remaining needing nearly 300 more.

I hope you are right, it will be one hell of a test match if you are!

Smith into demolition mode before the drinks break there.

Shame drinks came when they did. Smith was in the zone!  Still is it seems!

Love a good counter attack by a wicket-keeper batsmen. You feel its inevitable he gets one wrong at some point, it's just how many he can get before then.

It's very unlikely England can turn this particular test match around and its mad to suggest they have any chance.

What % chance would you have given us to win yesterday evening at close of play?

And what would you give now?

I’d have said there was a 10% chance of winning this, at the close of play yesterday

I think it's difficult until you have seen both teams bat, no Bumrah makes a massive difference.

Not convinced this Indian attack can bowl England out cheaply twice, am thinking a draw at the moment.

It won’t be a draw, there’s too much time left in the game. As long as England have enough time to get 500, we will win on this road. Top order won’t fail twice.

Awesome innings Smith. Now make it a double!

Fourth fastest by an England player in Tests. All of those apart from the top dog have come in the last few years.

I'd lay good money that sometime soon, Jessop's record will be broken by one of these players.
