Not a chance, Fofana wouldn't be on so little following his big transfer, nor Barnes after signing a 5 year deal a couple years back just to name a few!

Is there a more accurate source do you know?

Believe it or not, Football Manager is used by the media.  That's the basis of Vardy 150k per week & Schmeichel on £140k etc.

I can publish our current estimates for the entire first team squad here, if that would be of use to anyone.

Well, I'd like to see it.

Maybe your list could include a measure of accuracy, maybe 1 to 5 as based on what you say some are total guesses, some are virtually fact. Just a thought.

I am interested in salaries on the basis of thinking about someone's relative contribution and/or what improvements we could make as a squad.

I have tried to tell people on here that Under is commanding a ridiculous salary.
The part I got wrong was I was told he was our highest earner.

80k a week or something.

Man...I hope Vardy's salary is reducing for the last 2 seasons lol

I don't want to live in a world where Amartey and Choudary earns more than James Justin and the same as Fofana.

Also Barnes and Choudary cannot be on the same salary lol

But it's never that simple that 'X player is better than Y player, so X player earns more'. You are offered a contract at a certain stage, whether you have just broken into the team or are nearing the end of your current deal. Amartey signed one at the same time as we gave some big renewals out to Ndidi, Schmeichel, Vardy, Chilwell, Maguire and Albrighton - that was at the time when Puel clearly rated him and expected him back in the first team. Fofana was 19 and had played 30 odd senior matches of football. It's never as clear cut as it seems.

Vardy has earnt that through loyalty, leadership, effort and performance. He can't go on forever.
Next 4 - no issues really
Nacho - we are seeing the best of him now and so no issue
Under is off I assume, Perez is certainly questionable
£70k and £60k's no issues
I presume the youngsters like Fofana, Cags, Justin and Thomas will be getting uplifts
Morgan and Fuchs are off I presume
Amartey questionable

As said there are other factors and seems nothing massively out of kilter anyway.

I’m expecting fofana to sign a new deal end of season

I still think it is crazy that any footballer should earn over 100k a week!  Fofana's & Barnes look quite low, but it could be that younger players have something similar to the old pros who are nearing the end, and have quite a bit extra added for appearances?

As @pleatout rightly says, much of the figures used on sites like Spotrac are actually lifted straight from Football Manager among other sources - those figures are at best estimates, and at worst good guesses.

I've been setting our wage figures in FM for the last 3 years - there was no media source that claimed Schmeichel and Vardy were on 140k/week, that was a stab in the dark by me, and only me!

There are some that do have grounding in good sources - foreign press are much better at reporting wages - Wesley Fofana is in fact on around £55kpw because he admitted as such in his interview to L'Equipe just before signing, for example.

To be fair, though, our figures as a whole are fairly accurate - we were about £6k/week off from the total first team squad value published in the Global Sports Salaries Survey last year.

I can publish our current estimates for the entire first team squad here, if that would be of use to anyone - Spotrac's numbers there are mostly outdated now.

Might be how much I play the game creating a bias towards it but most of the figures seem about right to me.

I just can't believe anyone has looked at Choudhary and gone "you deserve 3 million pounds of year for the standard of player you are". There's better players in league one earning about a 20th of what he's on lol

It just shows how broken football is when wages are nuts for unproven players

Do us a favour, set all Leicesters players wages at £1k
