What was the excuse that baldy wheeled out as to why Man City will be sending the kids on Saturday?

Fitness issues apparently

Guardiola said: “Just three or four players from the first team (available), every week more players are coming.

“Hopefully they come back and they can train and they don’t have to rest or be isolated.

“I know we don’t have time because we have the Community Shield, but we’re going to play with a second team and we’re going to train.

“For everybody, it’s a tough season. Every season is so tough, demanding and important.

“They have to restart and feel comfortable on the pitch, and as many games we can play the better condition they will feel.

“We’re going to have the feeling that day by day, we can feel better.”

I guarantee it's bollocks and he brings the big guns for this game - it will most likely be most of their first-team squads only preseason game so can imagine it will be 90% full strength

I agree. Can’t trust a word he says. Despise the bloke personally, but that’s just me.

I think he thinks that he's cleverer than he actually is and that the average person that follows football is less intelligent than they actually are.

Is that the best idea following what we saw at Wembley for the Euros final?

I can foresee the security being proper tight and slow to get through.

Exactly. Makes me sick.

Remember when he said they couldn't afford a striker and now he's spending 100m on Grealish lol

What's the march for? Just a general march of fans? @Union FS

About 8700 still on sale, I reckon we'll add another couple of thousand to that so maybe about 20K for this.

Lower than I thought but lots of factors involved, can't believe they took so long to go to gen sale - I think (being cynical) they definitely wanted people to panic and buy memberships.

Consigned myself to not making it so wasn’t that bothered and didn’t look at any of the threads/news regarding ticket sales.

Then I got the email through from the club on Monday saying the tickets were on general sale so thought I’d look, but expected it to be a few of the £££ tix that’d be swiped up instantly. Then I got on the site immediately, thousands still available, so I’m in for it lol can’t believe how many seats are available really, even given the current climate.

I can't believe it either.

I expected everyone who couldn't make the FA Cup final to use this as opportunity to celebrate it properly and to go to Wembley for a big day out.

We didn't even have a parade FFS.

Got a feeling that Ward will start this. Rodgers will give him a chance to win a medal.

(you do get a medal, don't you?)

FA Cup medal was more of a consolation, I guess! But seriously, he might want our starting gk to start the last game before the season begins.

He didn't actually earn an FA Cup medal, he was just on the bench, I doubt he takes much pride in it. Kasper knows his job, it's not like an outfield player, he doesn't need game time to be ready.

Ward got one because he played against Brentford in the 4th round if I remember rightly? Made a couple of really important saves when we were 1-0 down in that game too.

Yeah but it's still not the same as playing the final and winning.

I guess not, but I’m sure he takes pride in his medal nonetheless - without his contribution we may well have not won the cup.

You don't only earn a medal for winning the final -- you win it for winning the tournament. Ward played in the tournament, and earned his medal medal.

If you're being pedantic, yes, but does he feel as if he earned it? Neither you nor I can know, but my guess is he'd rather win the medal in his own right rather than by playing in an early round or being an unused sub. Its not really a hard concept to grasp.
