Thought I'd make a thread to just say the things you really appreciate, hopefully we'll bring up some positive things. It's supposed to be good to reflect on things we appreciate too so let's try. I'll start with 2 that I've been thinking about lately.

1. Healthcare in the UK

Yes the NHS is strained and we often have to wait for things, but all in all, we probably live in the absolute best time and place for healthcare that is accessible to any citizen that needs it. Especially emergency care. Been reading about the black plague recently and it really puts how good we have it with medical science into perspective.

2. Regular football

In the couple of bouts of depression I've been through, football has always been there when other hobbies and interests / general desires have not helped. Just waiting for the next game, the analysis, discussion on the forum, and (hopefully!) a win or entertaining game has helped me immensely to have something to look forward to.

What do you appreciate in your life?

Or even just walking in the countryside or coast or a city with historic sites / interesting buildings and just taking a moment and admiring them. All great but in different ways.

Just got married and promoted in the space of a month so despite how tough the new job has been, life's pretty damn good despite the stress.

Congrats on both! :appl:

Bats. You really don’t hear them getting any credit for anything and I don’t think anything bad ever has involved a bat.

I reckon some pretty bad things have involved a baseball bat...

Life in general.

I've had some really shit times, see depression thread circa 2016.

Glad I'm still here, thanks to a lot of people on here.

A cold pint on a hot day is also one of the greatest pleasures you can enjoy.

And I think Mrs @StanSPhas just generally won life. She's married to @StanSP. What a guy :P

I made a 'sports room' with my Dad in our family home in 2019. Got a big screen and beer fridge and put some Leicester posters up around the place. Never thought it would come in handy so much, but watching the games together during lockdown was probably the thing we looked forward to all week.

Talking of which, Leicester City. Imagine supporting anyone else.

My girlfriend is hot and likes football, I'll be honest.

That sounds amazing. Something I'm dreaming off when I get a place.

Always a winner, can have banter as well. Had an ex that was a Chelsea fan.... Although it was irritating occasionally I think I did the grand share of the irritation!

If you're going to the Community Shield, mate, you're on.

I owe a few of you a pint or 2. @Izzy, you going? :D

....and another....

There's something for the list...... Music.....and books and films and vigorous coastal/country walking and having a laugh with good friends (happens too rarely).

I also used to appreciate getting intensely drunk, but I'm trying to forget that....

We will have our time one day :chant:

To be fair we're being a little more cautious as well in not being out and about so much as it'd be the worst to come down with Covid before the big day.

It doesn't compare to your day, obviously, but my Mrs is stressing.

We've got a gig on Thursday and the football Saturday. She's doing lateral flow tests every 3 hours, getting emotional and saying she doesn't want to ruin everything lol

Must be bloody stressful in your house.

Infected bat 'ran into' hand of B.C. man who later died from rabies: health officer

Nick Major, 21, died Saturday after suffering 'small puncture wound' in rare daylight encounter this spring
