How do you know which people were booing Maddison and which were booing the decision to take lookman off ?

Fans don’t ‘boo the decision to take a player off’ though, because they know damn well it might sound like they’re booing the player. They might react with stunned silence, to the decision, but then they applaud the player.

At best today they were booing the decision to put Maddison on; more likely they were booing Maddison himself. Either way they’re twats.

I disagree, fans will boo a decision if they are unhappy with it.

Good thread Finnegan.

its natural to have a 'oh ffs' about a player in a moment they do something wrong, a natural reaction.  But a full on boooooo is zero value.

If anyone can please tell me what help or benefit our team gains from booing during a game?

I'm mystified how this can be justified?

There is none. Not being harsh but I’m pretty sure those who boo are very thick and maybe didn’t get a good education unfortunately.

All fans, or just 'real' fans?

I do understand booing. Mainly because, as a fan, how do you get your opinion heard?

But i feel there is a right time to do it.

When making a change or decision, yes. But not when a player is playing his game and people are just boring him because they don't like him.

You said 'fans will boo a decision if they are unhappy with it'. So I wondered which fans you meant, because it should be obvious that the majority of people on here don't, and I think we all count as fans.

My point was you made a massive inaccurate sweeping statement, and I disassociate myself from it - I expect many others do too.

Again I didn't boo, I didn't go. I just hate these stupid threads that always come up and it's usually happy clappers slagging of matchday going fans.

Fair enough, I know the type you’re on about. Sounds like you get it to be fair mate, which makes your original post even more bemusing lol

Worst thing is those who actually didnt go, call themselves Customers and not fans and still try and justify anyone Booing our players.

These people probably  didnt go because they were at the petrol station buying the last few gallons when they already have 3/4 full.

I'd BOO them!!!

DON'T. BOO. YOUR. OWN. PLAYERS.

Reacting with disappointment to Lookman going off? Unhelpful but OK.

Making a point of continuing to boo Madders when he came on? Fvck right off. (And don't insult us by pretending nobody was.) He's not a crap player he's just out of form and low on confidence and throwing abuse at him isn't going to fix it.

Do these people learn nothing? That was literally Iheanacho not that long ago

Edit: oh and if you want to identify some of the people doing it, they'll be in this thread pretending it didn't happen.

Was at the game and it made me so angry. Maddison's confidence is low and got 80% of the crowd booing him. Lookman although he had a good game wasn't incredible and the sub was made on 78 minutes. Was embarrassed to be honest.

Any fan is entitled too boo a decision if they are unhappy with it.

If you didn’t that’s fine, I didn’t either but I’ve got no problem with anyone who did.

You don't need to get your opinion heard. You think a manager that gets paid millions and his staff and are going to say let's see what the fans think before we make a change.

So let's sack off the football forum then. Let's do away with the pundits on match of the day.

Let's all sit silently in the ground, no singing or booing or anything.

Like you say, why do the manager, staff and players care what we think!

Jesus calm down you'll do yourself a mischief.

On here is fine to discuss and it's the right place to discuss it. But booing a player has never helped anything or anyone. It felt toxic today like we were sitting bottom the league with 3 games to!

Maybe don't take football so serious. You might enjoy it more.

I thoroughly enjoy football. Win, lose or draw. Its a massive passion of mine and have been going for as long as I can remember.

If you think that never has a manager, player or someone in a footballing club has done something because fans got on their back I think you would be mistaken to be honest.

Folks around me stormed out when Lookman got subbed, they tried to abuse Rodgers on the way out too. That was on 77 mins. They never came back. Unreal scenes

Maybe it's cocaine withdrawal...

Lookman was great today. Our most creative and skilful outlet. No way should he have been subbed, that was a terrible decision as he still had so much more to offer. Maybe the boos were for that decision rather than Maddison's entrance.

Totally agree btw, never boo own players. Counter productive and mindless.
