They may be entitled to boo, but I’m not sure they’re entitled to call themselves a fan if they do so.

I don’t agree with you, I’ll leave it at that

DON'T. BOO. YOUR. OWN. PLAYERS.

Reacting with disappointment to Lookman going off? Unhelpful but OK.

Making a point of continuing to boo Madders when he came on? Fvck right off. (And don't insult us by pretending nobody was.) He's not a crap player he's just out of form and low on confidence and throwing abuse at him isn't going to fix it.

Do these people learn nothing? That was literally Iheanacho not that long ago

Edit: oh and if you want to identify some of the people doing it, they'll be in this thread pretending it didn't happen.

I was in the Family Stand. The number of parents - dads, really - encouraging their sons to boo Maddison was truly upsetting. Don't. Teach. Your. Children. To Be. T^@ts.

Frankly, I don't like booing players in general, even opposition players (admittedly, the antics of today's antagonists invited it, but still...).

The boos were due to the best player Lookman being subbed rather than because it was Madders replacing him. In the East stand we could see BR talking to Maddison for a long time so we knew he was coming on. Everyone around me expected Barnes to be hooked as he was struggling, the last person anyone expected to go off was Lookman. Maybe he was injured but he didn’t look it.

It isn't.  Every fan base is pretty much the same I reckon.

I just wish we could be better.

True…

But with the highs we have experienced in recent years, and the major low that united us all, it would be nice to have a “better then most fan base”.

The club has shown how it treats its staff, and is held in high regard because of it.  A proportion of our “fans” are not worth that.

Though it’s been great to see the positive comments in this thread.

Last season we got to see the effect of home fans - Away wins were far more regular without the home crowds in. If I thought my attendance at a home game was negatively impacting our team I would stop turning up. Booing only hinders us: if the players need a bollocking let Rodgers do it.

I would say we are up there atm. Because of what we have experienced our fan base has now become expectant spoilt brats.

Absolutely

In the process too, a large proportion of our fan base has become fickle and Behave in a way that goes completely against the morals that Vichai bought to the club.

The same fans that were devastated when he passed, and understandably so, are now utter C****

With respect, I’m not sure how anything like this can be tied into Vichai.

More the values he bought to the club and still does, respect being one. Yet some fans turn on their own players like tiday. It wasn’t great to hear.

How madders looked at the end of the game coming over to the family stand, thankfully he got clapped by all around me.

I think it’s more that people are booing the decision to take off our best player (apart from Vardy). The boos, in my

opinion, are directed at the manager’s decision, not Maddison himself.

Whilst I didn't boo - it's a bit much for me to get that her up - I entirely understand those expressing displeasure at that decision. It was a dreadful call.

The continuing of booing at Madders was a bit uncalled for. He's been crap but he's not been offensive.

Respect isn't a value most of us had instilled into us by King Power. It's innate in the majority of human beings.

Even if that’s correct (as others have also said) if your madders, yoir not thinking they are booing the gaffer.

Large sections of our home support really dislike Maddison (and Chilwell whilst he was here) for reasons that seem to go beyond his footballing ability

Been the case since he joined the club .

I think people would have booed had he brought on anyone else too. Fans will always demonstrate their feelings in games like today, and to be fair, Lookman looked sensational.

I don't like the mood amongst the fanbase as a whole right now. It's ugly.

I don't know if that's just the frustrating start to the season or Rodgers' tactics, or a bit of delusion on some people's part, but it's all just a bit... eughhh right now.

Figured getting back into the ground would bring people together but it seems to be having the opposite effect. I know it reflects performance on the pitch, but it's still disappointing. I'm going to my first game back in two years next week and i'm gonna cheer for the boys until I'm blue in the face.

Funny how people booing their own team are never booing what everyone else thinks it’s bloody obvious they’re booing.

’Of course we’re not booing this gesture of anti-racism. However unlikely this sounds, we’re expressing our concern that this gesture won’t achieve anything. Yeah, we may not normally express concern at the lack of successful measures to combat racism in football and society, but honest, guv, that’s what we’re doing here.’

‘Of course we’re not booing this player, or booing the manager for sending him on. However unlikely this sounds, we’re expressing our displeasure at the decision to take that other player off. Yeah, booing might seem an odd choice to make to show your support, but honest, guv, that’s what we’re doing here.’

I do understand booing. Mainly because, as a fan, how do you get your opinion heard?

But i feel there is a right time to do it.

When making a change or decision, yes. But not when a player is playing his game and people are just boring him because they don't like him.

When it comes to footballing matters, why would you feel the need to have your opinion heard by the club?  I'm not sure what they would do with that information anyway?

Dave in row G doesn't approve of your substitutions Brendan, better sharpen up your act!

Opinions are best left for your mates or get it off your chest here.  I have always seen it that we as fans have a job to do at the ground, to become the twelfth man by supporting the team, not booing them.

Just to play devils advocate here.........did no one boo their player after going off the pitch, only to come back on and sit down injured next to the touchline?

Surely you know the difference?

By all means, boo the opposition.  You can go 'full on panto' as far as they're concerned.

To be fair it's worked out OK with him lol

But yeah I agree. I'm no big Maddison fan but don't see how this can help.

On this occasion I think Lookman being taken off was the bigger reason for the negativity- I was amazed when his number was shown. Plus the substitution didn't make sense with Maddison being a different player.

The ironic cheers after Maddison controlled a pass early was pathetic, mind.

I'm really not up for booing players but I 100% booed THE DECISION today. Not really sure it's possible to say anyone was booing the player, maybe some were but all around me it was utter disbelief that Lookman - easily our best player on a terrible day for most of them - was being taking off. There were a lot of cheers for Maddison just generally because that's what you do but pretty difficult to decide where the boos for the decision end and the cheers for the player start.

Fans were booing because that idiot of a manager took off our best player.

I'm going to guess you haven't experienced many of our managers if you think Rodgers is an idiot

Yeah wrong call IMO but the guy's not an idiot.
