If they play with anywhere near the energy and purpose they did against Spurs this could be really ugly for us. We just look slow, lethargic and bereft of any ideas. Needs to change it soon

You can always rely on utLF (to remind us of how shit we've been and where fans should expect us to be)

I love it. Its instant perspective. We're the best we've ever been and yes the football could be better, along with results, but it's been seriously and significantly worse several times before.

He was often accused of an agenda against Puel (As was I), I stuck up for him because I had the same views as him, there was no agenda as far as I was concerned.

The things he's listed had happened before the time so why not happy clap back then?

However what we're seeing now is stinking the place out just as bad, yet he won't have a bad word said.

I'd be contradicting myself or be a hypocrite if I said anything else.

Perhaps people's accusations of an agenda were correct.

We have only been hammered once this season( with ten men). Every other match has been close. This will almost certainly be the same. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a draw or even a scrappy victory.

Kasper

Ricardo

Evans

Soyuncu

Castagne

Tielemans

Soumare

Lookman

Nacho

Barnes

Vardy

Possibly a player light in central midfield, but fuch it - just attack them!

Hard to see past a Palace win here. Depends if Rodgers admits he's getting it wrong or not I suppose.

Personnel aren't the main issue, its the way they're being deployed.

Perhaps it's because Rodgers has earnt that time to turn it around in terms of results?

'stinking the place out just as bad'?

I think you need to look at the situations comparatively once again.

Is this as bad as losing out on the playoffs in 2013? As bad as we were under Taylor?

I really think not.

If fans really do think or feel like we're bad now as we were back then, then I worry for them more than I do the club right now.

That's not what i'm comparing it to though is it, I'm comparing the times between Puel and Rodgers. The 2 things you've listed and other things hes listed were worse than Puel's time aswell, yet there was problems from him and me, I never seen him listing those things or telling us how far we'd come then though.

Regardless of earning time to turn things around you can be objective, comment on what we're seeing can be mentioned, parrallels can be drawn and I struggle to accept he has so many issues under Puel but is happy to clap what we're witnessing now (And have been for quite a while).

I don't think it's happy clapping. It's just perhaps not agreeing that we're as bad as Puel as you so regularly repeat.

Puel dragged us down and didn't take us in the direction we wanted to go in.

I agree the football could be better under Rodgers - we've seen it, and perhaps that's where more of the disappointment lies because we know and have seen how good we can be under him.

There's a difference between 'happy clapping' and acknowledging we should stick with Rodgers and allow him time to turn things around with the squad he has built/is building.

This isn't a slight on Rodgers but I'm not convinced that he's having much of a say in the signings. I think we have a way we want the club to operate and will bring in signings based on that. Generally signing young players that aren't quite ready for an elite club and peppering in a few bits of experience.

The only signing that made no sense was Perez for 30 million, which I am sure must have been at Rodgers request.  Mid 20s and 30 million and not a Newcastle fan was sad to see him leave.

Much like Brentford I'd like to think we have, or are starting to build, an identity as a club where the manager obviously has to be decent, but will be brought in to to carry out the clubs vision. It's the only way to continue to overachieve as a club long term. Find the blueprint and stick to it. I just hope the clubs tactical philosophy doesn't match that of Brendan's the past 9 months or so.

I do think he's ran out of ideas, the pattern of play in our games since the turn of the year has 95% of the time has been the same, it's not a lack of form but a way of playing the game that is clearly pre-meditated.  Even the Sheff Utd game we looked awful first 60 and banged 4 in uring the last half hour.

Rodgers can be blamed for some things but he shouldn't have to train Premier League footballers to control a ball, make a 10 yard pass or stay switched on.

The amount of times we have been turned over in the last few weeks from a basic pass going astray or a control that i would expect an under 10 to make is scary.

Last night as well Cags lost his man after 5 minutes and had no clue where he was. It is the basics we are getting wrong.

We're being sent out with a slow, negative mindset. That'll seep into the players. They must hate stepping on the pitch right now.

We'll pass it sideways and backwards...go 1 nil down....maybe 2 nil....then try and attack but ultimately lose the match....you heard it here first

Nah, sounds too familiar. Reckon somebody else must have said it too.

Castagne was our best player last night, only one with aggression and intent, has to play on Sunday and I’d fancy him over Ricardo to do a job on Zaha.

I thought we looked our most dangerous last night when the first subs were made (Barnes & Maddison), and we went 3-4-3. I’d do something similar provided Evans is fit and hopefully can marshal the back 3. Castagne and Thomas wing backs and Barnes, Vardy and either Lookman or Maddison in the front 3

This is a big game. Bigger than the result. Reckon we need a performance as much as result.

A positive I see is that Maddison looked to be playing more like his old self last night. If he carries that form over then we'll have something.

We could hope for a reaction from the players but I think it's more a reaction from BR that we need. Will he stick with his game plan? You know, the one that has served us so well of late.

I was about to chastise the back 3, but having read it properly I think you could be onto something here lol

The only thing I hope, is that we play a slow ponderous style that looks very little like creating anything, whilst simultaneously leaving us wide open to be counter attacked.

yeah i agree it is odd but this style looks even worse when the basics arent done well.

Too many of them either think they dont need to do the basics or are just being shown up for being quite average footballers.

I don't expect perfection as at the end of the day we are Leicester but i would expect the ball not to just bounce off players.
