That was truly awful that day and always one of the worst away journeys too. Can you see any of the current team coming over to apologise to the fans like they did that day though?

Iheanacho from the bench 👀

Lose this and next week (very likely against Man U) and, taking into account the end of last season, our record over the past 12 PL games will be W3 D1 L8. The 3 wins include narrow shaky wins against Man U's full B team and arguably the worst PL team for a decade (Norwich), along with a fortunate victory over Wolves, who've hardly been great themselves recently. Our poor form is way more than a blip.

Yup, I always look forward to seeing my team play. Like i said in an earlier post, form will change and it could quite easily be Sunday.

Our season needs to pick up for sure but I am confident the lads have it in them to turn it around.

Gawd bless you suzie ……..

I wish my glass was like yours

We play anywhere near like what we have been doing with that rancid style of boring negative football and we will get hammered big time and thats my prediction.

Hate stats, and simplified analogies, but a fair assessment in less than 150 words, let's hope we can get back to Winning ways

Palace have a quick frontline. It's likely Zaha, Ayew and Edouard will play. We simply can't start with Vestergaard tomorrow, he'll get torn to shreds by those 3. He couldn't cope with the pace of Vydra and he's not as quick.

I hope we go with something like

Schmeichel

Ricardo

Amartey

Soyuncu

Thomas

Soumare (if Ndidi is out)

Tielemans

Lookman

Iheanacho

Barnes

Vardy

He won't play 4atb without Ndidi, unfortunately.

Kasper

Ricardo

Amartey

Vestergaard

Soyuncu

Castagne

Soumare

Tielemans

Maddison

Vardy

Barnes

It's what I expect, not what I want. Maddison looked sharper midweek, but would still rather Lookman.

These games really do come round quick when you're in Europe!

I'm still going to have Zubrowka coming out of my pores as I'm waddling out of Thornton Heath station.

We need an ugly win

Which is unfortunate. Its the Southgate mentality of addressing a weakness in your side by packing more of those players in. I know you need a solid defensive base to a team, but addressing the lack of quality centre backs by playing more of them is nonsensical.

Totally agree. Liverpool made the same mistake for much of last season, trying to fill their gaps at centre back by changing other bits of the team eg playing midfielders at CB. Their season only turned around when they went back to playing their normal system only with the reserve centre backs playing at CB. Okay, those CBs weren't great but they did a job and the rest of the team functioned better as a result. Trying to cover up by changing shape and/or players out of position just creates further weaknesses across the team. We rarely play well with 3 CBs so even though we're missing our first choice CBs and Ndidi, I still think we should play 4231 as that is the best shape for us overall.

lol Oh for goodness sake. Nothing to do with me - and no need to bring it here. Stay off the scotch and if nothing else read the paper I provided a link for in the thread you refer to

Have a great day.

My irony meter was going off the chart when I read the post you quoted lol

Nacho must start

Until it actually happens, I see no reason to expect him to start a league game.  Manager doesn't rate him and will look for alternatives to avoid starting him.

I fear you are right.  Brendan has his opinion... I have mine based up on watching matches.  What goes on in training isnt relevant

I can't understand anybody leaving out probably our best performer at the minute in Castagne and yet players who have been poor like Amartey, Soyuncu and Thomas start ahead of him? Not having it I'm afraid....Rodgers does that and we lose and ill be calling for his head

They will play 3 in the middle which we will need to match so unfortunately would swap out Nacho for KDH as we will need someone to track Gallagher and also not be over run through the middle given how the CBs are playing currently.

Vardy over Nacho as he’s scoring joint top in league + keeps the speed in the front 3.

Would also have Timmy over Thomas.

Amarty/Soyuncu/Vesterg is a case of turn their pictures over and choose 2 atm until Evans can get back and guide them.

Just can't see a positive result without both Evans and Wilf. We're in terrible form, create next to nothing and confidence is waning. If Vestergaard plays we will lose.

I would go with:

Schmeichel

Pereira

Soyuncu

Amartey

Castagne

Choudhury

Tielemans

Albrighton

Iheanacho

Lookman

Vardy

But I know it ain't happening. At least two of Peres, Maddison and Barnes will start.
