Everton might go down as a sellout on paper but there were literally hundreds of empty seats all round the ground, no where near capacity.  A combination of atrocious football and high prices have seen to that.

makes no sense to expand our stadium with our current trajectory. We missed that boat 5 years ago

Next weekend could see swathes of empty seats

We won’t sell the number of corporate/premium seats the club need to make this viable sadly

Just isn’t the money in this part of the country

Villa had thousands of their new premium seats empty last weekend for a local derby and they are flying

I've always found villas support to be a bit of a myth. For a team that has a decent level of success in the past and were competitive in spells over last 20 years their support seems fickle. Also I hate the fact villa park is lauded - each time I've been I thought it was a shithole

Most support when you really look at over a sustained period are very fickle and Villa a classic example of this

If we don’t do the stadium expansion. Get the rest of the development hotel, flats and indoor arena. Sort out the rest of the planning and start bringing in much needed income

That would be King Powers income though.

Shortsighted here, we need the expansion if we ever want to grow as a club. Where we sit at this particular moment in history should not stand in the way of progressing to where we want to be.

There might be empty seats in some areas, but how many tickets were on general sale for the game?
Can anyone walk up and expect to grab a ticket on the day of the game?

Realistically, if we want to compete in the PL we need a minimum of 40,000.

Surely everything outside of the stadium expansion will be owned directly by King Power and not by Leicester City Football club Ltd.

depends how they structure it. The club "owning" it and King Power renting it from the club would be a very easy way to inflate income for PSR purposes

KP own the stadium but LCFC get the proceeds from it presumably after paying some sort of rent which could be just a peppercorn one, I'd imagine the rest of the expansion will be the same.

Info - The term “peppercorn rent” might conjure images of paying rent in actual peppercorns, but in reality, it symbolises a nominal or token payment. Peppercorn rent is essentially a small, symbolic rent amount, often as little as one peppercorn per year. It’s not intended to generate income for the landlord but rather to fulfil legal requirements to complete a lease agreement.

Current stadium is owned by K Power Holdings Ltd.

Whats the company reg? No record of that company on companies house.

King Power International Ltd own Leicester City football Club Ltd but they are incorporated in Thailand.

It would also be odd to quote the carrying amount of the stadium in the accounts if the company didn't own the stadium.

I always saw the development beyond the ground as enabling development, to pay for the stadium expansion, only providing the initial finance for the stadium work.  Thereafter it would be independent and not provide further income for the club.

I missed the 'co' - https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/OE014533

As an OE, not a lot of info excepting Aiyawatt is named on the registration.

So, are you saying the stadium has been transferred out of Leicester City Football Club Limited to an offshore company? And this wasnt disclosed in the post balance sheet events either.

I'd bet my mortgage this isnt the case.

I am going off the club's official press release about it back in 2013.

https://www.lcfc.com/news/434600?lang=en

Although the most recent accounts on the assets section suggest it's tied to the club. As an OE, there's not a lot of info - in fact it appears the company appears to have been running in 2013 and becomes reincorporated in 2023. So who knows?
