What has BR said (post Chelsea) that has rattled so many cages?  I cannot find it on YouTube.  Thanks

He couldn't mention foxtalk for legal reasons but he said our fan bases are a bunch of moaners and reminded everyone that we were in league 1 13 years ago

Not too much wrong with what he said to be honest, maybe the totally overachieving is a bit strong, but think far too offence much is being drawn from it

Are we so precious now?  lol

How about the  players and manager show some respect to the fans for a start? You don't get booed off after one bad match and the Leicester fans after years of  let downs and no hope proved their worth during the title winning season. The ground literally rocked like no other ground because we could see the effort being put in by players who by any standards were not supposed to win anything.

Respect has to be earned and I've seen nothing considering what theses players and manager are on  wage wise compared to the fan, to earn our respect this season . Please tell me exactly what I'm suppose to respect this season so far?

I think the OP is on about petty name calling and piss taking .. so if someone's not performing you proceed to take the piss out of them.. it's OK to criticise performances no one is saying that we have been total shit all season .. I think the OP is referring to the piss taking

I don’t really see how anyone can argue with that to be honest. Some snowflakes think they can dole out the criticism then can’t take it when it comes their way.

If Rodgers had justifiable criticism of the fans (such as the lack of noise when we're doing well) then I'd fully back him.

I'm not accepting that the crowd were wrong to complain about the rotten performance served up on Saturday.

Thats perfectly reasonable but would you therefore accept that boo'ing is both a right and a potential negative for players who may be trying their best?

Yes, I see that but I'd also expect them to know that their performance wasn't good enough. I think players generally accept that booing will happen, especially at home, when you aren't performing.

The problem with Rodgers comments as that we've had many of these type of matches when the ground was empty too.

It's nothing to do with being precious. My problem with what he said is that everything we have achieved under Rodgers matches EXACTLY what HE said were out expectations when he took over but now the pressure is on, we are suddenly overachieving...

That fair too I think, not sure what the answer is but my fear is that Brendan does not know either so is lashing out. This is not his first load of booing he has faced,  so to make that statement rather than laughing/brushing it off seems a little concering.

Bollocks and the snowflake sh@t is laughable. Anyone who uses that term is deserving of contempt. He threw everybody else under the bus, exonerating himself from criticism, with his totally over achieving comment. He has an elite squad, superb facilities, a huge pay. Time for him to prove he is an elite coach.

So you got all that from the one comment? Thats on you I am afraid.

I'd completely agree that boo-ing for the odd off game is unacceptable. However, we are not talking about an off game. This is consistent. Some fans wanted to express their disappointment, how else do they do so ? Its interesting because the week before, we've had Kasper come out and say he may want to leave. We've had Wes glorify his dream clubs (including our opposition on Saturday). We've also had Youri interview with a "keeping my options open" comment. Some fans take that personally - they just do.  This all coincides with a number of diabolical performances on the pitch. I wasn't there on Saturday but some fans seeing a "rinse and repeat" method of collapse wanted to vent. Why cant they ? I don't understand why its so frowned upon given football is such an emotional contest and losing is bad enough.

For me, there were better ways to handle the question. But I am sure others were fine with it. Each to their own.

He can stop the booing by setting up the team to be competitive  and having them press and not be 2nd to every 50:50 ball in the first half.

He can stop it by having us risk posession to make chances... no fan wants a team who have no shots in a half

He can change it by his actions... he wont change it by arguing.

I would be relaxed if he were to go.  I am not sure where he is taking us.

Quite agree, I did say it fair enough, but it is not without an element of shooting yourself in foot

No one is being “precious” reacting to that. It’s more fvcking worrying that a manager who told us his MO was to break the European places and win cups is now saying he’s ‘overachieved’ after he’s done that.

No need to call out the fans at all. Just trot out some boring nonsense he always does and focus on making us better. Because at the moment we’re shit at really basic things.

The same old manager clichés. "We need to improve and move forward and be the best we can be" blah blah blah. Not, "we should be challenging for European places and winning trophies".

Boooooooo!

I don't like the selection   the tactics, the effort.

I dont like the repetition.  I don't like the mistakes or the set piece defending.

And I don't like that none of these is being remedied.

Boooooooo!

I agree.

The trouble is I think the rot has been going on longer than we like to admit.... the current problems haven't happened overnight.

Can Rodgers fix them?

Personally, I don't think so.

I know what you’re saying, but I’d argue the reason Rodgers is saying what he has is because he is worrying about the dent in confidence some of the players (not all) might get from being booed while losing to the league leaders and European Champions.

I’m sure they know performances aren’t good enough, albeit maybe they’re more concerned about other performances than say after half a game against arguably the best team around.

Just hope he can fix this situation tbh, but if it continues and we get near the relegation zone, Top will pull the trigger I am sure. Fans have their part to play was my point, and we can be the 12th man for either side.

Elite squad? Elite means the best in the world. You really don’t think that do you?

Huge pay? Yes, we do historically compared to other Leicester sides, but it’s still only ninth highest in the Prem.

He didn’t throw everyone under the bus. He was asked about the booing and he said he was disappointed, as he inevitably is. Of course you would be if something happened that could undermine the confidence of your players. Of course people can boo if they wish as well. Don’t get angry though if someone calls it out for being a negative influence.

I thought the fella on Talksport was spot on, respectful but also critical.

I am not here to exaggerate about us being rubbish for 12 months or 2 years, like others may think but there's been two good performances since Saints 1-1. The Cup Final and United at home. Two or three hard working performances along side that.

I am not going to overly harsh over the result against Chelsea but the tactics and effort displayed by all suggested a non-unified approach at the moment. He has now until the Liverpool QF to make it work; all beatable opposition with a couple of really testing games thrown in too.

If you plot something along the lines of who we've played so far this season in the league, there's probably two results which would have gone under expectation 'on paper' (one of those I thought we were very unfortunate v Burnley). The results have got to start coming now - Watford, Saints, Villa, Newcastle

He'd also have won more patience if we hadn't made a complete fudge of the Europa League group. He lost some at the Warsaw game

All managers should be stackable in the bottom 5 places.
