Agree... but I dont see him addressing the flaws or setting up to excite.  He sets up to be cautious and we still lose ... ok we make mistakes, but we are not scoring at the other end.  I dont see good football and a motivated team.

Well, I agree. I see everything post-Ranieri as a transition and then the FA cup win with Brendan as the apex. Now I'm unsure about our style of football, 50% of our recent signings, youth development and team motivation.

Rodgers has had plenty of cash, his own recruitment lackey, a world class training ground & a talented young squad.

Our fans have been very patient with two abysmal collapses in consecutive years. If anything he’s had it very easy until now.

When he says things like it’s not a problem regarding set pieces, he’s just alienating a lot of otherwise patient people. We’re in a rut, which has happened in every single full season he’s been in charge, he’s never been particularly good at arresting it either.

He can’t take charge of an upwardly mobile club and then play up to our historical mean. 5th isn’t much of an overachievement with this squad, it’s about par.

Respect goes both ways.

You mention the money he has spent and 5th bring about par, it’s all well and good until you consider Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa and even Brighton and Bournemouth have had a larger net spend than us.

I can’t work out why the over achieving comment has hit a nerve with so many, there are 6 huge clubs with greater resources and pulling power than us.

There are then the clubs such as Everton and Aston Villa who have out spent us considerably. Anyone who can’t see that two 5th place finishes and an FA Cup win are reaching above our stations is deluded.

Yes we fell apart in the final day two seasons in a row, but don’t forget who got us into that position in the first place.

Some huge moments along the way too, winning away at all of the big 6, the 9-0 away at Southampton.

The way some go on it’s been 3 years of turgid crap.

I havent seen anything like that although I don't use social media, only this forum.

Very true though. He might not be doing great now, but overall, he's been far from bad and we owe him respect whatever happens or wherever he goes.

Please can we be permitted to take the piss so long as it’s not obviously offensive or abusive. This is a football forum ffs not a church or classroom. What a dull place this would be if only “adult” debate were allowed.

Absolutely and I bet even Brendan has a sense of humour and appreciates a bit of banter.

In terms of respect...

He's won us the FA Cup. He's delivered success. I have the upmost respect for him as a manager of Leicester.

With that in mind, the club takes priority. The recent comments have been reductive and insulting. He's shown his true opinion of the institution and that isn't okay. He has delivered but, in times of poor performance, made seemingly bitter comments about his perception of the club. That's not okay.

Respect isn't given, it's earnt. And it's not a concrete entity. He shouldn't be making those comments and that needs addressing.

I'm happy to support the man but, equally, I don't need to be hearing that kind of mentality coming out from the head honcho. That's a solid assessment I'd have thought.

So what is your expectation? Top 4? Champions league winners? Lol do one

Me? 65+ points and do well in the cups if we can avoid Man City.

That's where the club is at and from what I can tell, seems to want to slowly improve.

Feel embarrassed being a Leicester fan and reading all this bullshit on this forum lately. Any true Leicester fan will be frustrated and also angry at games, as we love this club, but the crap wrote on this forum ever since we won the league is shocking. So many fake or deluded fans. Take me back to the days of a half empty stadium, or burning the sporting blue to keep me warm in the kop. The days when I could only dream of times like these. Embarrassing and will be leaving this forum for a while as. A lot of people are a f’ing disgrace drama queens. You are all entitled to your opinion like I am mine. To 5th place finishes on a small budget compared to the teams we compete with. An fa cup against teams we should compete with, and a bad start to the season and the knives are sharpened.

I have sympathy for this position. I thought the overachieving comment was a statement of the bleeding obvious really. It isn't easy being the best of the rest, and we were always going to find consistency difficult with our model.

I often steer clear of FT when the results are bad, and the pile-ons are a mile high. It's pointless posting against an emotional whirlwind, and folks will vent their anger, some of which is about football.

Those last two seasons we didn't just 'fall apart on the last day' at all did we! If they were one off matches that would just be very unlucky and entirely forgivable but it wasn't. We had commanding leads over 5th place teams and blew it over a period of weeks due mostly to poor managerial decision making in formation, team selection and tactics. Despite injuries some of his decision making was bizarre and still is.

Yes we are all entitled to an opinion but just because you don't agree with someone else's opinion it doesn't give you the right to call them a Fvcking disgrace and embarrassing does it?

And matt gillies if you want to include the league Cup as major domestic honour.

I was at Hillsborough in 1997 and Wembley in 2000 ... and the League Cup is definitely a major domestic honour.   One of only three every year.

I agree with the sentiment of the thread that it shouldn't get too personnel and people shouldn't hide behind the phrase " it's just banter", when we know it is just bullying and being a complete a**shole.  But I would add that at least it is kept in house and not too public, it could be worse like AFTV who wash their dirty linen for everyone to see!

& This forum has shown often enough....Ending with egg on its face...when discrediting the opposition...

No..!!  You show respect at all times, until someone Chucks it in your face...& even Then there are various perspectives...

you Dont go around disrespecting until they put something on the table that Suits you...!!

He was asked if he took issue with the booing at half time on Saturday. He went off on one in that we are a club who have over achieved over the last two years and the fans should appreciate that. Essentially, those who boo'ed are an entitled bunch. It wasn't the smartest interview response and seems to have alienated quite a few.

I think its a BBC Leicester interview - which is why it might not be online ?
