That was one of the best comebacks from a Leicester side I can remember. The home leg was a very mediocre 1-0 defeat due to a clever free-kick from Cardiff, then we went down early and I thought it was over. Those 3 goals in the space of 20 minutes either side of half-time were fantastic.

Still have a lot of time for that side, the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons were actually really enjoyable at the time given it was the first time we actually felt like we were going somewhere after the 2004-08 wilderness years.

Lasting memory was Sky interview with NFP post match. First time that I'd seen emotion from him and obvious depth of feeling for the club. Gutted when he left.

I'd argue the championship was tougher back then. Nowadays you can usually pick the promoted teams but back then...you could have made a case for 7-8 teams.

Definitely. That season included us, Blackpool, Forest, Sheffield United, Newcastle, Cardiff, WBA.. all good sides.

Found this one on YouTube if that helps mate

Thanks!

I don’t think I’m being nostalgic when I say that the celebrations for our third goal are up there with the very best- even with what’s happened to us between then and now.

We were seated at the very front row centre and above the ambulance entrance in that corner. On some TV clips the camera briefly cuts away to our away end, where amongst all the limbs you can see my mate bolting off to the right to go celebrating with his Dad somewhere else in the away end

Easily one of the most dramatic games I’ve been to, and I’ve been to them all- Forest away, Watford away, United 5-3- whatever.

The game was largely ignored by the media due to Fulham playing in the UEFA Cup Final that same night

One of the noisiest away ends we’ve had, bodies everywhere, and it was the last time we’ve managed to sing two verses of ‘Oh when the blues go marching in’ before jumping into its chorus

Brilliant.

Think this is a couple of years after Iain Hume but I was a big fan of him.

He was about 3ft but used to jump to about 18ft and just hover. He could still do a job for us now defending set pieces.:giggle:

He was brilliant, cracked his head open badly didn't he?

Swansea were also a good side who were up there all season then collapsed at the end of that season to just miss out to Blackpool in the playoffs, mainly due to Sousa's lack of fitness training catching up with them. Then they got promotion the next season under Rodgers.

Always thought he was decent. Shocking he died so young.

Peter Whittingham did a great job for Cardiff.  Easy to think he died in 2020 due to falling down some stairs whilst drunk.

Christ, completely forgot about that and googled it, what a tragic way to go.

The 2010 team punched well above their weight.

A young Martyn Wagjorn, I thought he'd go on to Premier League life but he just levelled out. Big fan of Michael Morrison jumping from non-league to Championship with such ease.

Yep he’s made a very good career out of playing championship football for some decent clubs.

Shame Jack Hobbs career ended being ruined through injuries, always felt he could have ended up playing mid table to lower premier league football.

Interesting who is chosen to carry the trophies in this pic

Edit..... also that Youri and the FA cup is ahead of the Premier league :)  (VAR says elbow and cup ahead.. but feet behind)
