Chelsea will sign him, he’s not going to stick around here when we cannot offer him champions league football that’s a fact. We will probably get £80m plus add ons.

It's not just CL football, which is probably what you're aiming at Rodgers, it's the fact it's Chelsea and they can compete for every trophy. We can't and never will.

Fofana has had lots if injury issues here - he's done his hamstring twice and groin once. As well as the leg break, if he becomes classed as an injury risk we won't get 85m. If we get anywhere close to that we should sell.

His gait is quite interesting. His legs look very internally rotated to me. Not sure if that posture presents an increased injury risk or not.

Your right however it doesn’t help this status quo when we sell all our best players to Chelsea

It speaks volumes that the club aren't even willing to risk any transfers at all despite people telling us players will be leaving this window. Couple that with a lot of players with 1 year left on their deals there's not a huge amount of long term risk but it seems the club aren't even willing to gamble in the short term to help the team on the pitch.

Something is up.

Yes, it's called FFP.

I wonder if the fact Colwill has not agreed anything in stone yet is because of this moment.

I'd sell now, we clearly need the money.

Not saying it does, and it's painful to see. Plus there are much better options than Chelsea at the minute, they're not the side they were, but people seem to have an idea that CL football alone would keep players here. It's just not right. Players want to win trophies and Chelsea can offer that across all competitions.

If CL football alone kept players happy then CL clubs wouldn't see their best players leave (ie Van Persie to Man Utd and Kyle Walker to Man City).

The perception (and likely reality) that we are skint isn’t going to entice your best players to want to stay either I guess as what progress are we going to make.. vicious circle I’m afraid

Because we can't beat the status quo.

Chelsea turnover 493m > LCFC 256m (Euros)

Chelsea have won 21 trophies in the last 20 years including 2 CL > LCFC 2

Chelsea have played CL 17 out of those seasons and only missed European football once > LCFC 3 seasons of European football in that time.

Players at Chelsea are guaranteed big wages, European football and Trophies

I’d argue he has the same potential as Fofana. To be fair, it’s fairly embarrassing for Chelsea, coming after other players when again they have quality in their academy. Disgraceful really.

Surely the club that sees them day in and day out doesn't believe he has the same potential as Fofana if they are considering a world record bid for a defender....

So whats your business plan?

The club needs to generate more money from other sources , not just buying and selling players , hardly any clubs make much profit from that , at least not at our level. Our profile needs expanding , we are not cool or sexy as a club. The fanbase would expand considerably with more exposure. So we need a commercial manager with drive and creativity. Last and not least , the stadium is Too Small !.This joke of supposed planned expansion is a disgrace. We are down over 100'000 tickets a season and as a city of 350,000 people and being the only club in it we are losing a huge amount of money. If we want to think big we need to have the profile to match it.

It’s Chelsea…… they let Mo Salah and KDB leave……their judgement is whack. They don’t give a shit about their academy, they would rather spend their way to the top that earn it. Mount only got a look it because of Lampard.

I’ve asked this question a few times but as always never been answered (apart from Ric).

Those on here who have stated ‘ok then, 80 mill plus Colwill’, why?

Do you know he’s any good, ever seen him play? What footed is he? Is he a regular CB, can he play elsewhere?

Feels like a smoke screen, why are we the only club in the league taking it seriously? Every other club is spending money.

Because our salary bill is such a massive percentage of our turnover.

We were headed for 14th with him until we decided to stop being poncey little fannies and ripped some dross to pieces in the final 4 games.

He’s massively rated in the football world. Lots of talk about him at academy level. But quality players often get lost at clubs like Chelsea. It’s a certainly that Gallagher will end up leaving eventually. They’re one of the worst clubs to play for if you’re an academy player.

Few teams had a wage % to revenue that we did.

Few teams have invested in infrastructure that we have.

Few teams spent £60m on the back of massive losses lost season.

I agree with all your points. But we've really got to look at Leicester as a City of 500,000 plus . Basically the Leicester urban area and on top of that Leicestershire is getting closer to 1m

12 months time this lad can pretty much choose amy team in the world.

Why Chelsea????

Agent eyeing a payday.

Gets a big one now and if Real come calling in a year or two he gets another big one then too.

I understand that but this is a like for like replacement, they let those both go for decent fees at the time. I think its a reach to say Colwill and Fofana have the same potential

Probably because we're the only team in danger of challenging for Europe.
