We've won things, only played in the third tier once, and had some of the greatest English players play for us (Lineker, Shilton, Banks as examples).

We are not a fourth division club that is lucky to be playing top flight football and I wish people would stop pretending this.

The recent fortunes of this club changed when they brought Pearson back. With him we wouldn't have gone up because you throw how much money you want at a club but you need the right manager, hence Sousa and, especially, Sven didn't work.

Pearson was the best thing that happened to us, twice.

All clubs should celebrate their history. Football league was started in the 1880s and we have been established since 1884.

Not quite sure on your take about NP.

Of course you're not.

You don't agree on my take on the manager that delivered us two league titles, and turned this club around off field, but nobody can say a bad word against the owners.

Not sure what you aren’t sure about? The bloke got us from our lowest ever position to ultimately laying the foundations for us to win the premier league. Whilst on the way winning league one, the championship and overseeing the greatest ever premier league escape.

Well he was at the club for seven years, and won the World Cup in 1966 whilst still being a Leicester player.

Do you know, you really surprised me there, never thought he'd been here that long! I also thought he'd played more games for Stoke than us but not so!

1959-67 - 293 appearances (99 more than Stoke) - 2 FA Cup final appearances - 1 League Cup winner.

I like this photo of his home coming in Town Hall Square in' 66 mainly because I'm in it!

The Banks / Stoke / Shilton thing is full of complexity and revisionism and largely down to money

As far as I understand it, Banks (understandably) had the arseys about being shipped off to Stoke and felt we owed him some money for a unrequested transfer. However, in the 80s, he got a testimonial from us and the damage seemed to be repaired. He was a regular in and around Leicestershire jobbing away for things like Swithland motors. He was no Stoke man then.  ....

As he become old (and increasingly senile), he settled in Stoke and basically loved the attention they lavished on him (presumably as they had no heroes of their own, none alive anyway)

As for Shilts, he is his own biggest fan. he goes where the money goes. Simple as. He's blue blooded Leicester  (watch this is your life on youtube from.the early 80s), fell out with clough (over money, of course)  and restarted kissing the red filth backside as he gets the corporate gigs. Then  as we get good and he gets gigs from us, he starts bleating on about us.or Southampton. Or Derby. Whoever has the wrong basically.

Not Leicestershire but he took a training session when I was on holiday at minehead Butlins as a kid. Wanting to impress him I absolutely flattened some poor lad in a forest shirt who was about 3 yards out and about to score (any other shirt and he probably would have scored) I then informed said forest lad of my opinion of him and his team. Then had a chat with banks after the session who probably just wanted to get away from “this little thug” lol

Really, brilliant! Having watched an interview of him, he wasn't exactly enamoured by the way he left us either.
