The Masters is Back!!

So you may have seen that the legendary football tournament that used to be on sky is coming back! A streaming service owned by Adam Lallana and Martin O'neill (yes the very same), and tony woodcock is bringing it back in the summer i think.

 

Who would you like to see represent us, if we were to feature? Your perfect 5aside of retired players.

 

Mine would be Conrad logan, Paul Koncheskey, Joey Gudjohnsson, Matty Fryatt, lloyd dyer

I get that Conrad would just fill the goal and Lloyd has pace off the mark ….

I’m sure we won this a couple of times. Made up with players from the Pleat and Little eras.

 

I’m sure David Oldfield and Tommy Wright were part of that side.

Feel like players like Phillips and Izzet must be approaching 50 right now? 

I'd expect it to be players more along the lines of players in their late 30s/early 40s like Wes Morgan, Lloyd Dyer and David Nugent.

I was really excited to see this was making a comeback - used to love going down there with my dad - but then i saw that its only going to feature Man U, Liverpool, Celtic and Rangers. Now I really couldn't care less.

I have a vague recolection of an indoor six a side tournament in the 1980's in which current teams and players would take part. Possibly at the G-Mex centre in Manchester.

 

I'm also sure David Speedie played in goal for Coventry City?

Izzet is the only deep into his 40s, other have all retired relatively recently (within 5 years) so they'd be too sprightly for most teams imo, nor do they have other commitments I'm aware of.

I've played against Izzet at goals in Evington years ago. He was ridiculous! Still think he keeps himself relatively fit so he'd manage it

We were the masters of this for a few years.. Lee Philpott was a much better 5 a side player than he was left winger for city
