I know there's a few Evo SL heads on here so pointing it out if anyone is keen - SportsShoes currently have a handful of colour ways up for £103, but they've got some mid-season discount code up too, apply it and you can get a pair for under £90, best part of £40 off the RRP.

My second pair have gone flat after a really decent stretch and I really like them for getting out in so I've grabbed a new set, the price was a bonus!

what runs do you use the SLs for and how many shoes do you have in rotation given your mad annual mileage

Just signed up for the Shakespeare Marathon in April next year.

My running has been near non-existent since London. Just going for the odd jog here and there. Think I've been in a rut mentally and physically, stopped working out and put on some weight. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and thought i need to do something about it. I'll be 40 in January and I really don't want to become inactive and let myself go even more.

Absolutely buzzing - got my first ever sub 20 5k with a 19:16 yesterday. It’s been alluding me all year with previous best being a sickening 20:02 but glad to have finally got it 😅

Fair play well done mate

I just dash about in one pair until they lose bounce mate, it'd be different if I got involved in events though I'm sure

Did the new Brock's Hill parkrun this morning.

Decent course but super tight in places, particularly where runners are moving both ways. Think they might have to ban dogs because the leads were nearly tripping everyone.

Not one for fast times really

Any runners had bad knee injuries and managed to return to running?

I've had an ACL avulsion and meniscus tear (and a double fracture for good measure). Got surgery next month and massively missing the running. Just unsure how wise it is to try and return given how bad it can be on the old joints.

It’s not something I’ve ever been unlucky enough to do, but I’d be asking the physio/surgeon these sorts of questions when it comes about.

If I was answering it purely on instinct, I’d say that as long as your body has fully recovered, you do the necessary strength work and you take it very slowly and gently I wouldn’t see why not. When that comes about, I’d be tempted to start very slowly on a treadmill and get a running coach to analyse your form because you’ll likely be nervous of your knee which could change your gait and lead to other injuries in the short term.

Sounds rough either way mate but a lot of the stuff I’ve read is that running is more beneficial for your joints than it is of detriment, fingers crossed your surgery goes well.
