Totally agree. It may be conducive for a passing game, but when a lot of players (including our own) can’t stay in their feet maybe use a little less!

You’re all wrong. They need to water it more. Much, much more. To the point it floods. We might be better at water polo and I’m damn sure they don’t have corners in that game.

* Awaits correction from some sad, lonely git that actually plays/follows water polo ……

It’s been like it all season. Daka was like bambi on ice at times today. If the pitch has to be that slick then get longer studs. You sometimes wonder whether BR and his team actually analyse this kind of stuff. For me it’s one of the potential marginal gains. If we slip over less even if the surface is slick then we have a better chance of scoring. Same with throw ins - if we actually try and compete for our own throw ins and attack opponents throw ins then we can use them as opportunities. Same with free kicks won further out than the attacking 3rd. Rather than just recirculating play after the opposition have been allowed to reset and get back in position, why don’t we try and hit some into the channels or put some into the mixer?

Imagine being a professional footballer. You probably spend more time on grass, than any other surface.

Surely, you should be able to figure out the right stud to use.

our pitch has been like this for years. maybe today they added a little more but i even remember thinking this when we were in the championship. I’m not sure the groundsman change their plan based on how the game is going haha

....I  always wonder why, with players like Vardy, Barnes and now Daka and Lookman, why we do not take quick free kicks!!!

If the referee brings it back then OK, but we have nothing to lose if we take one early. The last thing we want are teams set in position as we struggle to find a way of opening them up.

We need a more enlighten coach or coaches at the club, because  basics such as these are over looked far too often.

As for slipping all over the pitch, this is not the first time we have witnessed our players unable to keep their footing at the KP. Any advantage we should have playing at home is being taken away, due to us not understanding our own pitch and its idiosyncrasies.

A cricket captain knows which roller to use and if the wicket needs to be partially covered, you weigh things to your advantage.
