You must be joking, have you seen the shot stopping stats for Ward? He’s the worst in the top5 leagues, measured on average shot difficulty vs saves.

In the PL he is ranked 28th out of 28 GKs.

He’s absolutely as bad as people make out, how can you possibly say otherwise?

Show me the info....

No, but we should have had some idea by now, because he should have played in place of Ward after 7 games at the very latest, arguably before 7 games.

And then Ward kept 6 clean sheets..... ?

There was an interview with Lee Dixon earlier this week  praising Ramsdale at Arsenal, and what a big difference he's made to their defence.  He said if your a defender and you know you don't have to worry about the goalkeeper behind you, it helps you concentrate on your own game and defend better, and can save you at last 10 goals a season.  I would be amazed if any of our defenders have any trust or confidence in Ward at all.

He's easily the worst starting goalkeeper in the league. Go up & down the table & tell me who you wouldn't trade Ward for?

The Bournemouth keepers

Guaita

Bazunu

Fabianski

In fairness, struggling after that

Well the defenders started to defend better to be fair. How many saves did he make that you think any other keeper couldn't have made.

He has a look on his face when in the sticks for us where he's constantly trying to ascertain if that diabolical gas he can smell belongs to him or someone else, its a look of concern either way.

meh, he's not great.

We've always had great keepers (in my head, I'm sure someone will shout 'Rab Douglas', or something!)

We need a great keeper.

Go get one.

They're really not that expensive

No i woudlnt. Ask West Ham fans

Blimey. Delusional.

Give them 45 minutes of Danny Ward and they'd take you in goal. He's easily the worst keeper in the league by a long way. I doubt most of the championship would have him start.

We hadnt got the funds to buy anyone in the summer..... what was he supposed to do?

Its Ward or Iversen..... end of

Nothing to do with the fact that Rodgers was happy with him being our new number one? I’m sure he came out a few times and said this in interviews. Plus we just moved on Kasper who was one of our highest paid players so surely,at least, a loan move could of been possible.

We had NO funds to get anyone, couldnt even afford to get Lookman back....

Can I just say this thread, the initial idea and posts, just show how players not playing somehow have their opinion increased.

Mad that anybody thought he would be better than Kasper and I stand by my post, about selling him, at the start of this thread in May last year.

Why get rid of Kasper then when he had another 12 months of his contract then?

Because his wage was too high...

They offered him a new contract but with a significantly lower salary.

He politely refused and out of mutual respect they allowed him to talk to other clubs

Ultimately reducing our wage bill and helping to balance the books.
