Ward looking like he did at the start of the season again

To be fair most goalkeepers would if the defence is crap, and Wales defence is crap, just like ours was at the start of the season.

Got shot down before. He costs points albeit he has looked ok in our recent good run.

Priority for January or try Iverson after the World cup.

This is worrying.

Ward is a good GK, but he started the season so poorly and had no confidence. Just as quickly as he got his confidence back, he has gone back to being shaky Ward again.

Yeah he's looked identical to that early season Ward in his WC games, quite worrisome tbh.

He literally let the ball through his legs for one goal and jumped the wrong way at a free kick for another. The defence can be the 90s AC Milan defence, it wouldn’t change those purely individual keeper errors going in

Poor on all three goals. He needs a confidence boost once the PL kicks off again or we're back to square one again. Ward's a weak goalie...

Await replies from the ‘it’s not his fault’ denial brigade

A new Keeper in January should be high on our list of priority signings. I fear it won't be though.

The worrying thing is with every world cup is that some one always looks dynamite and then you sign him but turns out to be a proper turd. Imagine scouting Ward for the games leading up to the WC - you'd think you'd have uncovered the new Banks!

When Ward is at his worst Iverson or Smithers would be better... Add the tea lady too! He's that bad but can also be unbelievable good when he's hot.

He's a coach's nightmare!

Whilst he's not been great the defending hasnt helped for the 2nd and 3rd.

He literally lets the ball through his legs for the the 3rd, but posters on here still saying “he hasn’t even helped by the defence”. lol

He was at fault for the 1st goal, but many GKs taken this gamble

I don’t think he was for the 2nd goal.

But the 3rd was the issue, looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights. A few minutes later he looked so nervous on the ball.

He looks like a confidence player & that is not a good thing when you’re a GK

Never said he wasn't poor for the 3rd, just saying the defending has as been equally poor.

But that’s kind of just irrelevant deflection isn’t it? In a Danny Ward thread, discussing the performance of Danny Ward, surely it’s just deflecting away from his performance.

Its been a performance of pathetic goalkeeping, regardless of the defence.

So the defence has played well?

It an observation just like yours.

Ward has had a poor game without doubt.

No but come on? If “To be fair, he wasn’t helped by the defence on the 3rd” was your first thought and observation of letting the ball through his legs then it’s clearly a defensive “observation” with a vested interest. You’re saying that he should need help by his defence on that goal when he obviously shouldn’t.

Again… he literally let the ball through his legs. An amateur goalkeeper should be saving that once the defence has been breached, let alone an international one. It’s Danny Ward’s job to make bread and butter saves like that. In the Danny Ward thread, it’s strange that your observation is to say the defence is “not helping him” on that goal - he shouldn’t need help to make that save.

Players make mistakes, unfortunately when your a GK there is no hiding place.

He will have made 100s of saves like that, tonight he makes a mistake.

His not the first GK to do that and he will not be the last.

He just seems a very streaky keeper, who form seems very up and down.

It's a bit easier for Ward to shine behind Faes and Co than it is behind that Welsh backline.

But we’ve being saying for years that his performances were good for Wales even when he underperformed at Leicester, now we’re saying the opposite.

He clearly is a good GK when in form, but a worrying GK when he is not.

We can’t have a GK that inconsistent as our number 1.
