gurru991 Posted 29 November 2022 Posted 29 November 2022 Inconsistency is not a good trait in a keeper !!

I reckon our defence probably does a better job at defending against Rashford than the Wales defence did for the 3rd Faes absolutely steps out in front of Rashford to try and stop him getting the shot off Edited 29 November 2022 by moore_94 1

Form and confidence improved for Ward after Wout started for us. Can't link that directly to tonight's events. But people are saying he's not good enough. I disagree.
funkyrobot Posted 29 November 2022 Posted 29 November 2022 He’s vulnerable against long shots so the free kick wasn’t a major surprise to me. The 3rd goal wasn’t great too. 2nd goal can’t really blame him for it. Looked good collecting crosses tbf.
Ric Flair Posted 29 November 2022 Posted 29 November 2022 Bad doo for the lad, seen him do that on free kicks before as well. Was completely wrong footed. 1
Blanchflower78 Posted 29 November 2022 Posted 29 November 2022 Not convinced his turnaround in form for us at least has convinced management he's the future. We all know the financial situation but I'd be amazed if they aren't already drawing up a list of those to keep an eye on. 1
when_you're_smiling Posted 29 November 2022 Posted 29 November 2022 He’s a confidence player. Get behind him and and build his confidence. 1

Of course we can get behind him in the crowd at games, but no way can you have such an erratic confidence player as your goalkeeper in the PL side. You need someone your defence has full confidence in, not a player who needs confidence from others. Having a “confidence player” as a goalkeeper has disaster-waiting-to-happen written all over it. I guess he’ll have to do for a season or so as a stop gap as we have little other choice, but getting a good keeper should be a priority number 1 in the summer. Edited 29 November 2022 by Sampson
Gamble92 Posted 29 November 2022 Posted 29 November 2022 I obviously wanted to convincingly beat Wales but but it would have been nice to do it without Ward having any clangers. On the plus side he shown plenty of the form just before he arrived, and not playing him ahead of Henessey when he's been playing and in form was a mistake from Page.
CosbehFox Posted 29 November 2022 Posted 29 November 2022 Anyone think Iversen is the answer, I've been reliably informed the club have question marks over his ability
Ric Flair Posted 29 November 2022 Posted 29 November 2022 Few more clangers back with us in Dec/Jan and surely we have to get someone else in. He's ultimate chaos.

Popular Post baldeagle Posted 29 November 2022 Popular Post Posted 29 November 2022 While he made some errors tonight I couldn’t give a monkeys how he plays for Wales I support Leicester. He was poor at the beginning of the season for us and improved massively . If he continues to play well for us I’m happy we will just have to wait and see . He did also make a good one on one save that no one is mentioning . 6

Dan Posted 30 November 2022 Posted 30 November 2022 He just sadly isn't reliable. Fair play to him on the form shown in October/November but I'm really not convinced and I don't know if I ever will be.
The_77 Posted 30 November 2022 Posted 30 November 2022 Get him behind his boys Big Dan & Bigger Wout and he’ll be fine again.

I think I'm just glad he's actually proven to be a competent goalkeeper more than anything bexause if it carried on like before it was enough to keep us bottom until the world Cup. I'm so pleased for him in terms of how he's wrestled back form and I'm happy with him as number one for this season. Which is an achievement in itself. But going forward we need to be looking at someone who's a class above.

ithuriel Posted 30 November 2022 Posted 30 November 2022 (edited) Want Europe, we need another keeper, want to just survive season after season, I'd still replace him to be honest, personally I think he is Championship level at best. Edited 30 November 2022 by ithuriel

He clearly is a good GK when in form, but a worrying GK when he is not. We can’t have a GK that inconsistent as our number 1. Hennessey wouldnt have made that howler against Czech
