Not sure how they've figured all of this out as I don't think the National bases have been announced yet, but very important if correct.

Argentina & France very lucky.

Were you just born or landed in this planet and figured out how corrupted is FIFA? I don't understand your rant about Trump. It looks like some of you have a certain agenda to attack specific politicians all the time. What exactly did you expect from the trophy presentation to be happy? Taylor Swift, Tom Hanks and Bill Gates?

I agree though with you, I hope the tournament will be a disaster but guess what, unfortunately it won't be. You know why? Because the stadiums will be full of infuencers, YouTubers, OnlyFans etc.

Trump fan ?

His presence only heightens the negativity towards FIFA and this tournament I suspect for many .

But they will make billions and probably just fill up grounds with VIPs and locals so won’t care what people say and think .

I'm not a Trump fan but the WC takes place is USA. Who would you expect to be there with Infantino? Fauci? If it was in UK I'm sure Starmer would have been there with Infantino and Raj wouldn't even comment on this.

Ofc they'll make billions and the stadiums will be full with corrupted elitists and people who don't even care about football. The sport is already taken away from the base of working middle class people.

Games will be televised. You can still enjoy the constant focus and zoom ins to OnlyFans "workers" in the stands.

Fair point - not his fault he is the President just when American have the tournament.

I doubt, however, the same could be said for choosing to make the festivities all about himself.

He doesn't have the stroke trump off until he releases though. Sickening behaviour by Infantino (literally infant behaviour).

Guy is pretty much ignoring Mexican and Canadian leaders. Hope Carney jerseys the cvnts (Trump and Infantino) lol

Quite telling how a World Cup thread can be derailed that quickly, just by mentioning one particular name.

Some people are so easily triggered.

Please get back on topic. TDS is getting quite boring and repetitive.

Are we going to shame other countries for their presidents/heads of state, too – retroactively?

Qatar 2022?

Russia 2018 (presidential cult, controlled opposition, human rights issues, press freedom)?

Argentina 1978 (dictatorship)?

Italy 1934 (in a truly fascist state)?

Were the US any more democratic in 1994? Not really.

The one-sidedness of the discussion here is quite telling.

This isn't a Trump issue, it's a FIFA issue.

All of those were pointed out, at length, at the time or retrospectively.

As is this one. As it should be.

FIFA clearly has a history of giving tournaments to morally repugnant regimes, and that is a problem. But don't hold any illusions that this one isn't up there with the rest in terms of repugnancy.

My last political input in this thread; Let's hope you start shaming Canada's leadership and its politics in recent years as well as the political struggles in Mexico as vehemently as you dislike Orange Man Bad Man.

That'd be only fair.

Neither of those are making this event all about them, nor engaging in heinous acts on a vast scale both domestically and abroad while pretending to be paragons of virtue via a sophisticated marketing campaign that William Randolph Hearst would approve of.

But yes, let's leave it at that because this is a dance where we're both too familiar with the steps.

Starmer isn't egotistical and also is a huge football fan. I doubt he would want the ridiculous fawning and I'm sure the Euro 28 build up will be fairly sensible and proportionate (obviously UEFA instead of FIFA).

The rest of it is though. Like, if the president was someone like Obama or even Dubya, does FIFA do this ridiculous peace prize? of course not. Because they're not such extreme narcissists as to demand such a thing - very obvious that he demanded it because he's still got a chip on his shoulder about not winning a nobel peace prize. This level of fawning towards him just makes FIFA look pathetic.

Orange man bad man, what a stinker of a term lol

It's one of those phrases, like 'EUSSR' or 'LibLabCon' that take me back to when Leicester were good.
